A question: is it possible to implement this

http://scale2x.sourceforge.net/

into WinUAE?

I've seen this blitter in many arcade and console emulators, but not in computer emulators (though I emulate only Amiga and X68000).

No, that sucks. It kills the pixel feel of the old system. Eagle, 2xSAI and the like, are enemies of my eyes

Add better interpolation ! !

I think it will be very helpful to implement more advanced method of interpolation like SCLALE2X or add a SPLINE algoritm.
Games will be looks great !!! .
It surely improve the popularity of WINUAE - in the case of oldschool game players ..... ( just thought )
Smoth screen with no blury pixels .. like an old amiga & TV monitor ... i allways dreamed about this

This is (at least partly) already possible in current builds.
Did you ever think about trying the OpenGL mode with its stretching/shrinking abilities as well as bilinear filtering?
I've never witnessed a picture quality so close to the one of a real Amiga.

All those antialiasing features do nothing but fuckup the real look of the games.

How can an oldschool player not be attracted by blocky pixels? Blocky pixels are sexy

Yea .. OPENGL with bilinear filtering looks good but this isn't an effective method of filtering.
Maybe there is a posibility to implement more advanced algoritm already exist in OPENGL ? ( trilinear or bicubic ?? ) which makes images more sharp ?.
BTW : Scale2x takes only few lines of code and i think it wouldn't be so dificult to implement this feature.

On my amiga & TV I have never seen any pixels so they aren't sexy for me

this kind of filter looks cool to me. not that i would like to use it on everything but i try to imagine lotus or xenon 2 so shaped. interesting

Run it thru a TV using your TV-Out.. looks pretty much identical to original Amiga screen (Except its in interlace )

I think it's a great idea and if it's turned off by default then no-one will be forced to use it if they dont like the effect.

Would this use less resources than the OpenGL 'blurring' effects?
