Sneek Peek - New Gotek Toy WIP

Here's a new product just coming to the end of development.

It works with the Gotek drive to make the buttons, LEDs etc much more accessible.

I sticks out of the disk slot of the A500 and A1200 just like a regular diskette, but has all the controls built into it.

Here's a 3D view of it:

I meant 2 weeks on top of the normal shipping time - and I still don't have it - had to resort to a British supplier - which is also late!

you should make the solder mask blue!

Interested to see how it fits the Gotek and Amiga

Why blue?

that looks good, maybe a bit darker, though i guess you might not be able to fine tune the shade depending on the manufacturer, but IMHO that will look much better, and far more retro

Hmmm.. I see what you mean. The reason I was going for red, is that I will be putting some nice big red surface mounted buttons on it, but I suppose red and blue go together pretty well.

The USB connector turned up this morning, but I decided to modify through-hole connectors instead (cos I can get them 5 times cheaper, what am I like?). So the boards have now gone for prototyping

Just a thought, looking at the 1.3 disk screen, Commodore were much better at designing computers than drawing thumbnails!
