that's an impossible compare between 2 games that can't be compared.

Try to do so just because SOTB has a poor gameplay, and try to verse people on Turrican II for this reason is not balanced at all.

Even accounting for the many flaws of the game, i still live SOTB, even though i have much more memories of the 2nd one.

But still, Turrican II wins easly. Not only plays great but it also looks great (but still not as good as SotB).

Are you serious ?
T2 all the way.

Dont get me wrong, Shadow of the Beast was an important game
( tech wise ) but it has nothing on Turri2 !
(Ok, the music in SOTB is also awesome)

Turrican 2 is my favorite game of all time. (and i still can play it today and enjoy it)

Shadow of the Beast fans where are you?
That's supposed to be a head-to-head race.
With a very tight victory for Turrican...

I played countless hours of both games so one might think that I enjoyed them equally but the truth is that I suffered through SotB while every second of Turrican2 was an absolute delight. I was a little bit disappointed by the ease with which the T2 bosses were defeated but the joyfulness of the whole ride compensated for it.

The only thing that kept me going through the torturous gameplay of SotB was the hope that the next unpredictable and fun-less trap would be followed by graphics and atmosphere as great as that of the opening world. Alas, the inner worlds of the game were depressingly much less beautiful and enticing than its "front facade", also they were extremely repetitive graphically and their structure pretty bland overall.

I don't think I ever replayed Beast after finishing. On the other hand I've been through T2 at least two times and replayed it many times afterward.

Beast might be a more significant landmark in terms of computer games graphic atmosphere but it's overall a very bad game.

Can't vote, the option 'Both games are better than other games' is missing.

In fairness, there can be a comparison. It may be like asking whether you would prefer a sandwich to a pasty, but there is still a preference that can be expressed.

As much as I love both games, I can safely say that the game that kept me coming back to play again and again was SOTB. It was just nice to play and I enjoyed the time spent on it... Even more so for SOTB2 ,which I could complete without the Ten Pints cheat (eventually!!).

So SOTB gets my vote
