I tried using the latest winuae beta.. didn't try older version.

WHD version with cycle exact = corrupt text entry / buggy keyboard handling / speed problems.
WHD without CE = fixes keyboard & corrupt display, still bad speed/scrolling.
Speed & scrolling issues make it unplayable.

Supplied ADF version works fine here, maybe dont forget to enable CE?

My last (and usual) boot setup is WinUAE (2.8.0) 020 (but Freq set to X2=A500 7mhz (with cycle exact) or Approximate A500/1200 without cycle exact), AGA chipset and chipset extras, 3.0 or 3.1 Rom, 2mb chip, 8mb fast. I dont run setpatch while booting. Then its Whdload 17.2.5386, default tooltypes. This always works 100%, the only alteration is I run setpatch to play AGA games.

edit: I did notice a corruption on the title screen with CE but otherwise fine on whdload here.

Just to eat my words here. My most stable config now is: A500 000, x2=A500 with Cycle Exact, Wait for Blitter, (1.3 or) 2.04 rom, 1mb/2mb fast. I'm using the latest whdload and winuae.

Best Times So Far:
Rowing: akabei........1:04.7
Cycling: aca0808.....1:16.8
Kayaking: lifeschool...2:24.0

This game is certainly no monkey island..

Tips:
All 3 events rely on a consistent timing pattern. If you lose rhythm at any point then your final times will -suffer dearly- (evil cackle).
Try to find the rhythm 'sweet spot' and maintain it for the entire race.

For Rowing and Cycling you can tell when your close to the sweet spot because the speed bar will be on full.
If the bar drops you could be slightly off the g spot sweet spot.

I'm about, but I have been hard at work on my own game. Just starting to put the final touches to the game engine, once that is done I can concentrate on level design only

Essentially, I'll have more time for the competition.

Just to be clear: we choose option 3 (Play one event) and then can be all 8 players? Or is there a way to make it just a 1 player event??

No problems at all for me when using the ADF (so far). I'm using WinUAE 2.0.1 (yes, I know it's an oldie) with 68000 CPU, Full ECS (chipset extra: A600) with cycle exact ON, 2.05 ROM (rev 37.350) and 8MB chip RAM.

NB: When it says loading event, remember to press the fire button or it will sit there doing nothing!

Type your name, press return, choose your country and press return again without typing a second name. Voila, you have a one player game.

Thanks.

My times are as follows (I need to improve on the cycling a little):

Rowing: 1:03.8 (63.8 secs)
Cycling: 1:17.1 (77.1 secs)
Kiyaking: No time set

Total: N/A

The game is a little funky on the cycling. Whoever wins gets an additional tenth of a second (0.1s) added to their time whenever the 2nd place person crosses the line!

No thread here yet. But you can check out the Project L-S link in my signiture - I have put a few pics up on my website. I'm not going to reveal anything here just yet. Maybe in a few months when it is more complete.

Here's a current snapshot of the times (in seconds) of SG2:

Now we can all see how close things are.

edit: I dont know why my 500px pic is so small on EAB but if you press CTRL and + on your browser a few times it might help. CTRL and - to go back.

Things are indeed very close. I have managed to improve my rowing by a few 10ths, but am really waiting until I get closer to akabei's time before I post up a new pic.

In theory the best score possible (going by best times so far) is: 2628
