Amiga compatible tracker software

Hi all,

Is there a way to create "Amiga compatible" mods in Linux.
I would like to interchange mods between linux and Protracker on a real Amiga without much pain.

I think that an issue would be to create compatible samples linux side.

Can you advise a tracker for linux which has the most compatibility?
And maybe some guide to create compatible samples?

Thank you in advance

Protracker uses samples in 8svx format. If I remember richt RAW samples worked too. Howerver, use 8svx. They need to be mono, 8 bit and sampling requence max. is around 27k. For most samples ~22050 Hz (F-3) is good enough. I don`t know the exact frequncies for each note.

Milkytracker works in Linux if I am not wrong and you can export modules that the Amiga will read, albeit with problems. After some fixing they should be fine.

You can use WAVs with it. Milky will convert when you save as MOD. But pay attention to the Protracker limitations (note range, sample rates, mono samples, etc)

Milkytracker did the job very well!

Now, what is the *best documented* tracker available for a classic amiga system (actually an A1200) ?

Best documented = with an online manual, documented shortcuts and maybe some tutorial ?

In other words, what's the best tracker for a novice on the Amiga side ?

Thank you

I'd go for either Protracker or Octamed Sound Studio.

if you need some tuto, you can check some videos by Photon (Scoopex) explaining how to use Protracker :
