Reanimated

Hello everyone

I've just picked up a A1200 off eBay to begin relearning the Amiga, and boy have I got a lot to learn!

Back in the 90s I was the graphic designer for a few forgettable titles on the Amiga, but left the industry when Hewson went bust while we were converting Onslaught to the Sega Megadrive. Since then it's been PC all the way until I bought a ZX81, and now I think I might be hooked on nostalgia

You can look forward to a host of stupid questions from me, coming to a forum near you, soon.

Mike

Good to have you back mate! I was reading about hewson the other day. The owner then set up 21st century and made pinball dreams etc.

I'm looking for an a1200 myself atm.

Ah, did he now? We'd have been left high and dry with thousands owing if the Americans hasn't stepped in and picked up the contract. I took that as my cue to go and find a "grown up" job.

Thanks for the welcome. Always a good sign of a friendly forum

This is quite a productive amiga forum here and stuff gets done.
You should fit right in.
Pity you had to leave the industry way back.

I'm bidding on an a1200 on e-bay atm. If I win I will pimp it out over time, indivision aga, internal hardrive/sdcard thingie etc.

Btw have you heard of the indivision aga ? It allows a1200's to run on flatscreen tellies.

I think I'd reached the limit to my graphical skills by then, and could see the kind of stunning graphics that were coming with the growth of the PC's abilities, plus we'd dabbled in the world of vector graphics and I didn't find it very much fun as an artist.

I'll have to look into the indivision aga, as I have three flat panel screens kicking about the place that could be well employed with that and my Zed-Ex once I've soldered in the Composite interface I'm getting. I suspect I'll have my 1200 by Monday if the cryptic Hermes email is what I think it is. Thanks for the tip
