Limitations are in used filesytem (ffs, sfs, pfs, ...), scsi.device or other device drivers and used hardware (IDE, SCSI). There are maybe other limitations I don`t know. Have a look at Thomas website where you can find plenty of informations about this.

No, at least not without updating scsi.device. ~7.8G is IDE CHS addressing limit (spec soft limit only, hard limit is much higher). Check http://eab.abime.net/showthread.php?t=61666 more details.

Is there an updated scsi.device driver that can use more than 7.8GB? I would like to try that and also suggest it to Gulliver for consideration in an updated BetterWB.

While waiting, I will ask my friend Google if he knows this voodoo magic you mentioned.

Currently BetterWB 3.8 Beta (still a work in progress) features:

scsi.device 40.x (assuming you are using a 3.1 kickstart rom, if not 39.x)

CFD 1.32 (new in this version)
FFS 44.5
PFS3 AIO
FAT95

And I am considering Cosmos´ scsi.device 43.47 because it can work on 68000 processors (all other seem to require a 68020 as minimum, which is a no go. I would have prefered v43.45, but it wont work on a 68000).

@Gulliver:

If you could give me early access to 43.47, I have a spare 16GB CF card and am willing to test it out.

Unless my understanding is incorrect...

Tried to split my mind, then stopped as there was too much sh*t inside...
I will try if somebody posts the scsi.device file, else I won't do all this as I am unfamiliar. Don't want to say "it ain't working" only to find out I did something stupid...

Zoned means: it's uploaded into the zone already
Did you try that? Is it not working?
If you don't know what the zone is or how to get access ...
then read the board Rules&Help and the FAQ, plz. THX.

You can get Cosmos's scsi.device 43.47b1 from 3.9's unofficial BoingBag4:
Download: http://amigan.1emu.net/releases/BoingBag4.lha
Path: BoingBag3.9-4/Files2/Devs/scsi_A600_A1200.device

Yes use that one with loadmodule (Aminet) in your startup-sequence.
