Hrt-Mon refresh in Tracer broken

The trace mode in the built-in HRT-Mon doesn't work correctly in the latest official WinUAE (2.7.0) version, the refresh (I suppose) is broken so the results displayed on screen are incorrect.

How to reproduce:

1. Use any 1200/4000 config with HRT-Mon enabled (windowed/full screen doesn't matter, I'm always using windowed mode, JIT/MMU settings don't make a difference either but I turned both off for testing).

2. Activate Hrt-Mon, press F7 to enter the tracer and press cursor down to single-step, the problem will show almost instantly. Sometimes the screen will be completely blank (i.e. no instructions shown at all), sometimes it shows wrong output (incorrect commands/addresses).

Would be nice to have this fixed as the tracer is more or less unusable like this. If more info is required let me know.

It breaks in b16 which also added 2.35 hrtmon. I think bug is in hrtmon update.

Old thread is old but as I was annoyed enough today to finally have a look at the HrtMon code I can say: you were right (as usual), the tracer output was broken in 2.35. I have fixed this and some other things (WHDLoad commands WL/WS renamed to WLM/WSM so the internal "WS" command to write sectors works again, help mode couldn't be quit on fast machines). Fixed HrtMon.data and relevant source files attached.

Is it "official" 2.36 or some test version? It is not in /whdload/Tools, at least not yet.

I did some small test on my A1200 040/40 3.1 and can confirm the bug when using v2.35. With your v2.36 it is gone. The only thing I noticed with v2.36 is while refresh time of display (cursor right/down) some small gfx garbage at lower left side (outside visible screen) appears. Just want to mention it. Nothing that need to fixed or so.

Thanks for fixing!

Would be nice to have v2.36 in /whdload/Tools directory instead of just here.

I will most likely create the full 2.36 package in the next days and send it to Bert so it will be "officially" available from the WHDLoad site.

I merged changes to my "UAE" version and noticed "bra.b .exit" was added to print_status? Why? (I don't know what this routine is supposed to do and there was no comment aded)

Whole hrtmon probably should be made fully PC relative, using some address register relative addressing but it probably is far too boring task..

I added a realtime clock display but decided not to leave it in for the moment. And forgot to remove that very instruction which just skips the track status display. This is already fixed in my version.

I once started to make the code pc-relative but it is way too time consuming as it's lots of code and testing everything would take ages. Hence I dropped this idea.

UAE version done, I also replaced "tst.l (whd_base,pc)" with 68000 compatible version. (Didn't want to touch CPU type/WHD check code..)

The updated HrtMon 2.36 package can now be found on the WHDLoad site: http://whdload.de/whdload/Tools/hrtmon236.lha.
