The playback drivers are nicely functional, but there's a problem on certain set-ups (particularly really fast ones) that causes instability, and it's that that's holding things up.
Making it work well on a 7MHz 68000 and a fast 68060 is a challenge, especially when we're using Zorro II and clockport as an interface.
It's incredibly frustrating to see it work perfectly on one machine and not on another, and these are the bugs that take the time.
There will be more updates soon.

Edit:
@BigFan
Don't worry too much about Paula sounding old. Most spot effects will be fine with 8-bit, especially any explosions, whacks, thuds, or squids hitting windscreens. It'll basically make things sound like CD32 games which used CD Audio (c.f. Jetstrike, which is awesome).

I didn't realise that, I assumed the playback was handled by the OS. I guess the CD32 must have a custom rom in addition to the kickstart.
If so you don't need a Prisma Megamix, just a functionnal CD-ROM drive. Kamelito

I'm waiting for this card for my A4000t and A1200.

Please make it work nice with 060

I wonder if I will have enough free slots for this card on my 4000t. Forgot how many slots there were. I have the following: VLab Motion, Toccata, Zorram 256, XSurf100, Peggy+.. I guess I will remove Peggy+ since it's mostly useless today. I might remove VLab Motion since I'll not be using it regularly.

OK, another update.

All the Prisma cards arrived from Michael and they look great.

Michael is also manufacturing an audio back plate PCB for towered A1200's and big box Amigas which will an optional extra for the card.

I have been really busy with AMIStore development so decided last weekend to devote to Prisma instead

In the meantime, Spirantho very kindly sacrificied one of his weekends to add an AREXX port to the Prisma.library which is indeed very handy.

So I changed my PrismaControl programme to take advantage of Spirantho's efforts. Now PrismaControl uses Arexx messaging and it works well for all of my tests so far on my A1200T.

It also means all you programmers out there can make your programs control the Prisma card with a few simple Arexx messages, for example:

rx "ADDRESS PRISMA_MSG_PORT 'PLAY'"

rx "ADDRESS PRISMA_MSG_PORT 'STOP'"

rx "ADDRESS PRISMA_MSG_PORT 'VOLUME 10'"

I haven't yet tried it, but I also believe that I could modify my IBrowse MIME settings to play OGG, MP3, WAV files from webpage links. Any suggestions on this would be good.

We have them, just waiting on the last bits of software to be completed.

FOL: Maybe amigakit should offer a clockport expander now that my clockport will be used for rapidroad usb?

Would be nice, but most people dont use more than one clock port device.
Im sure it would also effect performance on both devices.

I still think there are a lot of people with a subway on the clock port that also want a soundcard there. I really want the new soundcard, but I am not giving up the subway. it's a trust wordy stable piece of hardware you can always count on.

So I hope you reconsider I believe you will sell more megamix cards if people can used them with a clockport usb solution.

The only way to get a clockport expander is true a unreliable dude named djbase.
If you can make a profit on a pcmcia angle adapter you also do it with a clockport expander.

Theres just a few more things left to iron out. We were working on the jack boards the other day.
We may release for A1200 first as the drivers are pretty much complete.

However nothing is definite, will try and get an update tomorrow.

Been playing around with it some more. We did find some bugs, which is a shame as people have been beta testing it for a month or so and not reported anything. So we need to get them fixed.

We will be releasing it first for A1200. We will try and get bugs fixed as soon as possible so it can be released hopefully before Christmas.

Have to fair, I haven't had a good play around with it until today.
I tested on an A1200 (no expansions), it ran lovely. No slow down when playing music and doing other stuff. Also tested with an 030, again perfect.
Its also been tested on an 060 without issues.

We are thinking of offering a cable with paula input and prisma output aswell as a jack board that has all inputs and outputs, obviously the jack board will be abit more expensive than the cable with paula and prisma output.

@FOL

What form are the drivers for this card in? I'm thinking of replacing the MAS player in my jukebox setup with one if it supports MHI - that would be on an A1200 clockport. Also, what sort of API is used for decoding other formats? Will there be documentation on that or will it just be through a custom application you provide?

As for the clockport splitter, some people would indeed find it useful I'm sure, and many clockport devices support multiple ports. DJBase doesn't seem the most reliable, but the board itself is very simple to build. I think the problem with throughput is just something people will have to work around (don't do heavy USB transfers while streaming WAVs for example), but with new USB adaptors appearing, I'm sure many people would like to use both without dismantling fragile connectors to switch from one to the other.

MHI driver has been completed but it is in beta.

We have added an AREXX interface to driver so you can issue it commands via a AREXX port. We will provide all the Arexx commands.

There is also a CLI program called PrismaPlay which can be used to control the card through CLI

Finally the full GUI is PrismaControl which runs in Workbench.
