Possibly. Or something like a teleport perhaps. As we are having four separate levels they won't be absurdly big but some sort of teleport type thing might be worth thinking about if I could fit it in and indeed get it to work. Something I will make a note of I think...

On a different note...

We need a name for our character and we're really struggling to think of one... has anyone got any ideas? We can't call him "our blue shades-wearing mouse" forever, it's not very catchy

Gorgon is already a quite well-known name ("family name" of Medusa):

As easter eggs, put a crowbar (for Gordon Freeman) and something related to Emile Zola's books (not sure which one is the most famous in English-speaking countries).

Of course, I will certainly bear it in mind

Predseda is currently working on some new graphics... I've sketched out a new map on graph paper and have made a level map using the current demo graphics (I will replace them of course). It's now a matter of sitting down and putting the items in the right places, and coding a couple of extra little bits such as opening doors. When the key elements are done, tested, and no doubt modified, it should just be a case of replacing the graphics and then work on polishing it up and adding music etc.

Quick update for those interested... I've been working very hard over the last few evenings on this and I've now got all the new objects, characters and conversations in place. I've got a door-opening routine (albeit a crude one) up and running (so that key does find a use after all ) but there are still one or two extra elements to add. Progress is definitely being made on the gameplay front! This will make my life much easier when I get new graphics; it'll be a merely a case of putting them in and tweaking and jazzing the presentation up a bit as well as some pretty hefty playtesting.

Thanks for the support chaps, it's really appreciated! I have taken a well-earned break this evening though

It's great to see so many games in active development these days, long may it continue. I don't think we've had it as good as this for a number of years now.

Yesterday I have seen a non-public demo level skeleton. Looks and plays really well, I think you gamers will love it after some necessary tweakings. Still we do not have a name for the main character. Although I quite like suggested Gordon Zola, Graham is right that it sounds more like a bulgarian footballer.

Having played the dev version last night and being quite impressed with the playability and controls how about this for a character name.

Suede, or if you wanted to gimmick it up a bit like Bob Suede? He also reminds me of Lara Croft with his little back-pack.
