All of them.

They didn't want them even available at the particular site (not mentioned),
perhaps just not from any site other than their own.
Hosting them on an Amiga adf download site isn't making a mobile distribution.

I re-read the email.. probably not right to post everything in it,
but they clearly say some are available for Blackberry,
and they are working on a number of old titles for re-release on iOS.

You might be surprised what can happen, unless that was some specific dig at Team-17.

Lol @ "Amiga Games Inc" who is their CEO? Someone who is surely not around when it all goes bad
I just purchased "iOS Apps Inc" and "Lots of Hot Girls at the Beach Inc" if anyone is interested?

I'm not sure what you mean. I simply meant that if a company gives the right to make old Amiga games available on a website, doesn't mean those games are freeware. I'd sure like to read what you mean by 'surprised' though...

I'm sure they aren't freeware, and the site maintainer probably made that mix up honestly.

What I meant by "surprised" was:
You might be surprised what you can get without paying any royalties to create a mobile distribution.

You might have been suggesting that Team-17 (in particular) are money hungry though,
it depends how I read your post.
I was looking to pay licensing, but for the distribution to be free to the end user.

Denis posted that all Team 17 titles can be freely downloaded from Dream 17 and I said that this doesn't mean you can create a remake for a mobile platform because of that. Team 17 still holds the copyright for all those titles, as other companies do for their titles. I'm sure you can ask companies for the rights to create a mobile version for free and some (lets hope a lot of them) would agree By all means I wasn't hinting at Team 17 being greedy bastards, but rather that the deal this very thread is about surely wasn't made for charity reasons

When you "acquire" something for a hefty figure, it's hard to believe it's for charity
It's very interesting though.
I'd like to know who owns Wings.
It still looks like a total outright scam to me.

They plan to re-release Wings:
http://www.cinemaware.com/games/
Looks like iOS.
and also looks like another Amiga emulation "Join our Kickstarter campaign".

Did you actually look at the kickstarter campaign? The screenshots surely don't look like Amiga emulation

Yes I did later on.. looks like it failed.
Still doesn't look like they are giving up the rights to that game.

Wings is an interesting one, Blazing Angels and Heroes Over Europe etc are pretty much spiritual successors to Wings on the Amiga so how do you still make it 'Amiga like' when using DirectX 11 codeset and make games that look the same as Windows Games etc?

And Cinemaware is pretty much 100% different company now except for ONE person who worked on maybe 2 Amiga projects at the time....hardly what you would call getting the old gang back together

As for the original subject of the post....I would like to say a big "FUCK OFF AND STOP RAPING THE AMIGA" in the most softly spoken friendly voice

You don't need to host the games as ADF files since the site dream17 has them. Team17 has only granted the permission to this website and no other.

I'm not sure what you are expecting from this deal but I promise you, at least from my point of view, that it's not exactly good news:

Who wants a Nook? Not me.

Sorry to break your dreams ...

Nothing in the article states that it would be exclusive to the Nook library.

That's all bullshit. They have not paid the money to the concerned companies. Therefore it's a bag of bullshit. Just wait for them if they try to release old amiga games, game companies or IP holders will bite their asses to the full !

I'd be very surprised that a publicly traded company such as Writers' Group Film Corp., positioned in a market segment where it is required to report to the SEC or a U.S. regulatory agency, would acquire another company without proceeding to the appropriate due diligence in order to properly evaluate the risks and put a figure on the acquired assets. Amiga Games Inc. must have acquired the copyrights portfolio or at least a transferable license allowing them to do their business in the proper extent. If not, AGI wouldn't be worth a penny.

On the other hand I don't know where they're going with this strategy. Look at this:
http://tech.fortune.cnn.com/2013/06/...le-apple-nook/

I hope the agreement between WGF Corp. and Barnes & Noble doesn't have strong exclusivity clauses, so they are still allowed to sign other agreements with companies like Amazon, Apple, etc.
