Have you played Banshee? If not what are you waiting for?

I've had this on my A1200 's hard drive for years but for some reason never played it until last night. On my 1st go I was quickly impressed but its technical prowess and the gameplay. The next go I had to whack the cheat in coz I so wanted to see more of the game's levels and FX.

Holy ship, it's an impressive game. LOADS of action, pace, aesthetics and cool touches. Love it! An outstanding piece of AGA work. I take my hat off to those clever guys who made the game. Well done!

It was basically written by Anarchy the demo team, primarily the guy behind 3D Demo 1 and 2.

I recently played it with friends on a CD32. Thatīs like the perfect game for the console featuring all gamepad buttons. People are kind of shocked when those burning little people run around screaming like hell. "Thatīs legal? Ohhkaay..."

You can bet the BPjM never reached level 2

Banshee is a great game indeed and earns a few extra points for the steampunk setting

Famtastic game, only thing it lacks is a soundtrack. Does the CD32 version add any music?

I owned it on disk when it was released, and showed the WHDload version to a friend a couple of weeks ago, he was amazed at how great it looked, and played, and all the little details which help keep things entertaining. Highly recommended, just wish it had a soundtrack...

I believe the CD32 version doesn't have music either. However for me this is an extremely good thing. The last thing the game needed was a bland tune playing in the background to detract from the atmosphere (in my opinion). It's probably the best vertically-scrolling shoot-em-up on the Amiga and I can't think of much that needs improving.

Banshee is probably the most beautiful pixel art game. The level of detail is astounding. I can't think of anything better. A true testament of what AGA is capable of. And it works on vanilla A1200 too !!! Imagine what games we could have had if 2+2 MB RAM was standard

yeah, I wish it had a bland soundtrack to bore the **** out of me. If it was produced to the same standard as the rest of the game it would have like, totally rocked, man.

Which difficulty is everyone playing? Normal is quite difficult.

Easy isn't any different as far as I can tell.

EDIT: Ah, looking back on the Super League competition I'm actually doing alright so scrub that! @D

I'd rate Banshee alongside SWIV, although both are tough as boots shoot-em-ups for sure. Great visuals and SFX.

Or, if honesty pays, I'm crap.
