Could you try again and give me more detail to reproduce the bug ?

Thanks
i found the simple solution yesterday:

This evening, for the first time, I saw this warning message displayed on my profile page.
I think this one is also resolved (same bug that for who is online)
If you see it again, try to screenshot it
Thanks, RCK!

I have seen that warning just the once on my profile page, but if I see it again I will upload a screenshot.

"show signatures" is disabled by default? at least it was off in my profile, wondering where there is the signature of kipper2k

Edit: signatures also disabled for guests. :/

some users offer their little projects in signatures, so new user or those maybe interested would not see the little info .

Well, I change this in latest EAB revision to prevent spam member account to use signature as a link field to bullshit websites.
Moderator team can not verify every homepage links and signatures of new member, that's why they are no more displayed for guest.

hmm, yep, i see. what about users with, for example, 100+ postings may post their adverst? well, those script experts may just flood the board with useless things ...
damn spam'ers :/

Edit: just a suggestion: Image Resizer (version: 1.0.1) - not sure if this version works with current eab software - just to give a hint

is this something usefull? sometimes large pictures were uploaded in threads - threads a bit hard to read. this might help?!

Earlier today I was on the main page, and clicked on this link http://eab.abime.net/eab-s-competiti...-new-post.html only to get a message saying "Database Error: The database encountered a problem".

I hit reload on my browser (Firefox) and the page loaded up fine on the 2nd attempt.

I have a screenshot of it, if you need to see it.

No need, I got one email each time database is unavailable
I confirm that mysql 5.5 is not as stable as mysql 5.1 on my system.
I migrated yesterday my preprod serveur to mariadb 5.5 and for the moment it seems fine.
If I can't find any problem during next 7 days, I will migrate abime.net to mariadb. Goal is more stability.

I have reverted to all database mariadb conf (was still using mysql 5.5), let's see if it's more stable.

Thanks for the explanation, RCK. The forum went dead following a 'Database error' just as I was submitting a post yesterday evening. Fortunately, my post made it just in the nick of time, along with one other by turrican3 a moment later.

Okay, It's 9 days that the last MariaDB conf is active, it's quite stable and cpu load average is good until now. Anyway, I found one hardware problem that may explain all the last month instabilities: One of the 1GB ram slot is dying !

Code:
Memory device status is critical Memory device location:
DIMM_1B Possible memory module event cause:
Single bit warning error rate exceeded,
Single bit failure error rate exceeded
I will change it asap

Okay, I just bought and received 4 new gigabyte of ram. (server ram: pc-2100r - CL 2.5 - ECC)
I will jump to datacenter in the next hours and stop abime.net for 10 min to change ram.

If this is final update, then please extend PM limit too. For me 50/100 PM's for every year is good solution. 200 PM's limit is too small.

Why don't you just remove some of your "Sent Items" messages ?
If you want to keep your PM for archive purpose, you can also download them.
