Any chance for a skip level trainer for this game?

Edit: Has anybody managed to pass level 3? I can provide a tip how to get a time bonus (if you have good timing and a fireball that is...) if needed. I thought that the game would be a bit easier

Floppy disk Document your process!

@Asman: I would be very interested in reading about the process you used to convert the game:

Based on the huge sound file I guess you converted all the ST sounds to Amiga IFF files and just play them back instead of writing a sound conversion routine?
Did you find where the game draws and alter that to output in Amiga screen format or did an entire frame convert job on the screen?
How long did it take to convert?
Did you pick this game because it was a favourite or was it analysed to be an easy one etc?

Details would be fascinating!

Very very nice conversion. It runs just fine also on unexpanded A600 - it is a bit slower, but still very playable Thank you !

It seems ST conversions are becoming very popular now. If you have some time (or Meynaf has) maybe some documentation on how you ported these games would be great - maybe some other coders here would take on some (like Codetaper said ;-) )...

Hopefully Galahad can finish Where Time Stood Still - or in the case he can't - maybe he can let someone else have a go at it ?

Now short answers I will try to find some time to write more.

With music and sound fx Don Adan help me a lot. I just only make wav file with samples from Atari ST version.

Yes, I change every place where game draws, that was not so hard as seems to be.

Not so long, more time takes to fix bugs (mine and original)

I like a lot Solomons Key and I have also luck that this game on Atari ST wasn't so complicated to convert.

Not awfully necessary, but I have to admit that level 3 already is very hard to finish for me (haven't managed yet) and I'd like to see the later levels.

The trick is, once you get to the bottom-left area of level 3, is to block the goblin while moving forward (left) and at the same time, jumping up and placing another block so that the fire breathing dragon moves to the right then quickly moving and jumping back to the right (on stone block) to avoid death and repeating this again a few times.

Eventually, while you're standing on the stone bit, the dragon will move towards you and you'll be able to remove the block it's on, killing the bast. From here, place blocks above the goblin to get to middle-left area....

... and by then I'm out of time. Again and again and again LOL.

I'm determined though!

Yes, exactly

About the time: If you manage to kill both ball-thingies in the upper right with a fireball you get a time bonus Maybe you can get past level 3 then... I'm still in the 'cursing at the fire spitter in the lower left' phase here

OK, I finally completed level 3 (thanks to TCD for the tip with obtaining time bonus which helps immensely!) and here's a snapshot of level 4 (I didn't bother with the usual lo-res/centre screen options here...):

I need to figure out how to use WinUAE record video mode (all these years using WinUAE and never used this section) as would had best showed how I completed it (tutorial anywhere?). But, in a nutshell, move like the wind! There is little margin for error on level 3. Once you get to the middle of level 3 (where the exit is), you simply "build" a bridge over the dragons.

You can still use old guide http://guide.abime.net/gguides/video.htm

Oh, I really like to play Solomon' s Key!

Shame the highscore saving doesnt work and the highscore table music has some problems after playing two or more times...
I tried this game on my A4000D and standard A500. Both had those problems mentioned above. . ?!
Ok I checked the highscore file with Filemaster and found my name there... The strange thing is, it doesnt appear on the highscore table ?!

Hooooo

Regarding A500, I thought maybe it is a memory problem ( I have 512 kb Chip & Fast), so I disabled the crack intro from startup- sequence to save some memory.. Now the highscores appear to be saved and are shown, but the hs table music doesnt work..
Is the crack intro actually needed for the game to work properly ?!
