Phew, having worked in a psychiatry I've heard/read a bunch of f-ed up stories, but this one would rank among the worst ones. It's a shame the doctors didn't act up earlier to prevent the damage that has been done and while I'm not familiar with the french law from your it seems like your father should have at least been evaluated before this happened.

Wishing you to remain strong and keep your look at things as it is.

Sorry to hear about this tragic event, it hurts to loose family and of course things one grows attached to.

Careful fella, we are sailing close to the wind of banned topics. We don't want to get told off especially on this sensitive thread.

First losing one parent (he's not your father anymore, he has become a stranger now) and then all your childhood memories has to be really one of the worst things that could happen to one human being.
And this whole situation once again shows us that laws/lawmakers don't have a clue and actually don't care about how real life works.
I'm both sad and speechless.
Our thoughts are with you, Denis.

OMG so sorry to hear this bad news BUT keep positive & strong for your mother.
Remember mental illness is a disease and not your fathers fault.

The past is behind you now and can't be changed. Go speed to a quick recovery.

Oh that is absolutely terrible!! forget the Amiga collection mate, although it's what you originally had you can get it all back over time. The main thing to focus on now are the necessities.

My heart goes out to you and your family mate.

i'm going in holidays, because things are getting worse on the family side (they are denying and/or minimizing what my father has done). i'm completely alone....

To protect and preserve myself, i must leave all this ! the more it goes, the more it stinks and my brother nor my sisters are listening to me. It looks like the stockhlom syndrom.

I don't know how things will go later, but it won't go right if nothing change :S

Sorry for late reply.....

How can they deny this??

Your not alone mate don't think like that bud, I think your family are in a state of shock still. I had a similar thing when my Mum passed away a few years ago.

I bet your one of the youngest aren't you, (same here) they never seem to treat you with the respect you deserve when your the youngest or it could just be they'd have ignored anyone at the time.

I think getting away and having a good time is a great idea!!

Write them a letter or email before you go, tell them how you feel so they can't ignore it and bury their heads in the sand.

You've all a big fall out to deal with its going to take a lot of time to get back to any normality again, be patient mate

Chin up, onward and upward!!

Then kick their butts, and rally the troops

I all seriousness though it just sounds like their way of coping, give them time mate.
