On PSP, as anyone had success running some classic arcade games via one of the various MAME implementations (not CPS/Neo Geo stuff)?

I remember I tried some time ago and the only one I could manage to work was Rampage and it worked very slowly.
I had other games I wanted to try (Shinobi; Bubble Bobble etc...) but the romset needed was not what was available.

This thread reminded me of that so I was thinking of hunting older romsets, but I have the feeling that the result will not be satisfying.

Hence my asking if people have had a good experience emulating arcade before spending some time on it.
Im sure there was a mame with an arm implemented core for PSP, Final Burn?
Cant remember now.

Indeed but IIRC it mainly focuses on "modern" systems (CPS, Cave, PGM...).

Ah, perhaps an older release then (closer to the original FB for Windows). I'll try to track that, thanks.

Edit: Ok, I managed to run Shinobi with this one:

It does not run well (even at 333) but at least I can run it. I'll try to find further revisions.

Luigis mansion 2, Mario galaxy 1 & 2 .etc etc. And yes I own an Xbox and alienware pc for more "hardcore" gaming, whatever that actually is.
Most of the content for DS is childish in that it caters for children.

I didn't say all of it was childish, but certainly a greater percentage is.

And it is simply true. There are quite a few "adult"-oriented games for the DS, but what infuriates me is that it is actually difficult to get your hands on them! I have to resort to importing if I wanted to create a decent collection.

You know, this reads exactly like what an eroge visual novel fetishists would write
