Atari Flashback joysticks

The Atari 2600 console revamp comes with two faithful recreations of the original joystick complete with 9 pin connectors (even version four's wireless ones). I've heard these work fine with Amigas, but haven't heard of anyone actually using them for that purpose.

Anyone tried it? Are they clicky and rock solid? I expect they're just like the originals, but I've never used one of those either.

Cheap USB versions of these by RetroLink have now started showing up on eBay (previously you had to be in the US or pay silly postage rates). Has anyone tried them? For a tenner it may be worth a punt, although I've heard they're not Linux compatible out of the box.

The originals were awfully sturdy. Truly built to last.
