I only ever owned an A500

Can someone give me a rundown on the others? Version numbers? Compatibility? Capabilities? MOD tracks of floppy clicks?

Ok, maybe not that last. Maybe.

I too have only owned an Amiga 500 (still do, and still love it). This link may give you some of the information you're looking for.

Awesome. I'm running Workbench 1.3 on an emulated A3000 now.

You're not alone. My only experience to date with a real Amiga was a bog-standard A500 with a 512k/512k RAM setup.

I sometimes wonder what it'd be like to have a CD³² in my possession mind you...

WinUAE helps. It's not the same thing, but it's still good.

What's a "Zorro" when it's in an Amiga?

My only experience with the Amiga prior to this year was a friend's A500 back in the late eighties and winUAE. Thankfully I now have a few real Amiga's to mess around with

It's an expansion slot in big box Amigas.

Alright, thanks. Can you define "big box Amigas"? *Points to title of thread* I'm guessing 4000, maybe 3000?

I tried using it for RAM in WinUAE, but it's not showing up. Perhaps what I need is a WinUAE Zorro guide.

Yes, any model that is not a "wedge" (A500, A600, A1200) or CDTV/CD³².

Now I know. As said, only ever owned an A500, and the Commodore scene around here was dead before Commodore was, unfortunately. Our A500 had a second floppy disk and a 512kB RAM expansion, that's it. I'm not sure either of us even knew what a "hard drive" was at the time. I remember being puzzled about what these "Install to HD" icons were, at least.

Hmm...Does Back to the Roots accept public-domain computer club discs? At least, I can't think of anything on them that isn't public domain.

I had a third drive in the end, but I've only seen those obscure 'AGA' or 'A1200' versions in the shops before I found out much later via WinUAE what that means Back when I had an A500 I knew almost nothing about the Amiga except that it I could insert a disk and play a game... that changed when I played around with WinUAE and read up what I was doing
