It's very disappointing, the publisher is still claiming it was released on July 1st.

Yeah I saw that. It is a pity that Variant Press / Brian Bagnall can't even be bothered to give an explanation to all those people that have had this book on pre-order for so long. Especially when you consider the niche appeal of a book like this.

Maybe we can contact the author of the book to see what the problem is and if he can self publish or find another publisher?

Variantpress.com is a very small publisher. It isn't even listed on their website anymore. Their apple ii book is also very delayed. I really wonder whats going on there.

@BrianBagnall1 tweeted "I'm still doing some interviews with the European Commodore people to fill in some blanks. Should be late 2013."

Suggests it isn't yet ready to roll.

Well, I find it quite fitting for an Amiga book. Beside the 500, it was never "on time".

Great news. I don't care if it comes out in two years, it's wonderful we'll get to have such a work.

The Book Depository pushed the release to November 30th (this year ) I've no hurry, if the book is as good as On the Edge, it's worth waiting for.

A side question: how much do the two books, On the Edge and Company on the Edge differ? Is it worth grabbing the latter one if I already have the first one?

Amiga years starts where on the edge left off and follows thru to the demise of Commodore in the 90's.

I think Boulder means what's the difference between the two editions of the first book.

In the first edition: "On the Edge: The spectacular rise and fall of Commodore", the Commodore part (1974-1984) is 348 pages, and the Amiga part (1984-1994) is 200 pages.
In the second edition: "Commodore: A company on the edge", the Commodore part (1974-1984) is 542 pages.
So it's quite an improvement (and not just all pictures!) I can't really recall the difference, as it's been a few years since I read the first edition. Just finished the second edition though, and looking forward for the extended Amiga part (whenever it will be finished)
