The Kyocera hard drive failed to initialize when I powered it up, so I'll be getting PowerCopy set up shortly...

very good, keep us posted, I hope the floppy will copy just fine on real Amiga hardware, there was no indication of bad tracks last time it was used.
Can't wait |

Nothing to report yet, I'm afraid.
We've had a lot of rain here, both last week and now this, and humid conditions are not best for getting old floppy disks out in the open. When it's fine and dry again, this task will be top of the agenda! |

Still nothing to report, I'm afraid...
It poured with rain all day here yesterday just as things were beginning to dry up again! |

Hi dirkies,
I haven't forgotten about this. The weather here really has been exceptionally wet lately, so I still haven't got Powercopy set up. I'll be posting here again when I'm ready, because I'll need Denis' help to assemble the track files into an Extended ADF. |

Sorry, mate. 2012 was the wettest year here for 100 years, Then we had snow in January and now it's raining again. So it's still no dice for disk imaging.
When things finally improve, this task will be at the top of my to do list. |

Don't worry, your disks and the files I have so far derived from them, are safe. |

Thanks for the offer, but I already bought two replacement hard drives of the same make and model as the first, but all my attempts to recover the original hard drive contents have so far failed.
I had no warning of the hard drive failure and no backup. Then, when I had just completed making a back up of the secondary hard drive, that failed too! (That was a bit of luck, as the secondary hard drive did at least contain a partial backup of the original.) The cause of those hard drive failures was evenually traced to the PSU gradually failing... I now have a replacement PSU. I just have to find the time and space to rebuild the machine and the software it contained... The failure of that machine has not only disrupted my emulation and disk recovery exploits, but it also took out my scanner (though I now have that working again). It's imperative that I get this fixed, but somehow there's always something else that's more urgent! |
