Bugger! I only bought AF2012 at the turn of this year... if only i'd have waited!

and the cheeky sods had the nerve to email me and try and rush me into buying on a sale last month that wasn't as good as this.

Does the plus edition come with OS 3.9 install or is it only up to 3.1?

If it does, can I use the files to install OS3.9 to real Amiga?

I got the premium edition for 50% off, that's good enough for me. And they shipped from Germany, not Italy, so it arrived the next day and not weeks later.

The download you get immediately after purchasing however is no longer an ISO image but a Windows installer, so you have to install on Windows first in order to get access to the Amiga files (or wait for the DVDs to arrive).

AF contains ADF files up to WB 3.1. And it contains something they call 3.X preinstalled. There is no installation material for 3.5 and above, but I think you could use the files from 3.X on a real Amiga if you remove the UAE-specific programs.

I've just purchased this (9.45 euro) and the email states:

"The default download link listed above is for the cross-platform DVD
ISO image. If you prefer to use the standalone installer for Windows
please use this link:"

So there are 2 links, 1 for an MSI and 1 for the ISO.

I've just downloaded from the ISO link in the email and it is a .zip file with the .ISO in, 2 PNG files and a readme.txt. Not bothering with the msi.

Its not the box or the extra 2 Dvd,s but they only have films etc i had them before there pretty useless..

But it is the full downloadable ISO 650 meg so you burn it yourself and in effect you have the full CD as if you bought it...ie bootable to workbench etc

I just purchased it.....£9 inc vat ....cant argue with that

UPDATE !!

Just downloaded mine...to confirm you get ....DVD.iso....Cover and disk label ....so if you use printable discs you can make a real one

I've got emails from Amiga Forever to update to the last, with good prices, but... I've already got the 2009 and 2012 first edition (they sent it to me for free after waiting too long for the C64 Forever 2011 edition).

I don't see the point to expend more money, although I appreciate they'll keep updating it. Well, perhaps in 2013...

I dont think I'll bother with another update. most of the updates this year have been for UAE which we can all get for free anyway.

I'll be honest, the quick start menu is handy, but a PITA to set up... especially RP9's.

Think the only good thing about it is having legal kickstarts for emulation and easy AmiKit/AmiSYS setups. and I paid £30 for that!

There's a great žmprovement in the 2012 edition compared to the 2011, but surely you (and me) won't take advantage of them. I can't tell about them, but there are several.

For me the greatest improvement this year has been Amikit (that you can get for free if you like -I bought the USB stick-).

Bought it too. Had to pay VAT, so the total was about $12 for me, but still cheap.
