Applied Systems Seriox Zorro card
Found an interesting Zorro card today I'd forgotten about in my parents loft - Seriox card by Applied Systems. I got it with a bulk load of stuff years ago and just stored it. Having a look at the larger SCN68681C1N40 ICs I would assume it's a multi-serial card probably with 4 ports. Has a DB37F connector on it but I don't have the cable. Looks to me that it was hand soldered.
Neither BBOAH or Amiga Hardware Database have a record of it, but the latter has an earlier effort by the same company HERE It is marked: SERIOX CARD (c) Applied Systems Group 1993 Designed by Tony Leatham I do have the original driver disk... which after much chewing and retrying my CatWeasal imaged. Unfortunately it's just junk and I think it's been overwritten as half way through the ADF is some scene ASCII art for cracked games. Haven't ever seen one of these before and just wondered if any of you guys have or know anything more about it. It looks in pretty good optical shape so I'd assume it probably works but without drivers & cable I don't feel like installing it ![]() Pic here: ![]() More hires pics and crappy ADF image in the zone. Of course if someone wants to buy/trade me for it then feel free to send me a PM. Otherwise it's going back in the junk box ![]() Last edited by musashi5150; 18 March 2012 at 14:08. |

I've not tried it in emulation yet, but it looks to be a non-DOS disk containing a lot of compressed data. I've spotted 72 tell-tale -lh5-, -lh1- or -lh0- signatures and the following filenames: FMRKatx-pre.lha FMRKchaosfix.lha FMRKdlm-dhlm.lha FMRKgod-clit.lha FMRKgod-hprt.lha FMRKgod-mnzt.lha FMRKheim2fix.lha FMRKhlm-bsd.lha FMRKhlm_h2tr.lha FMRKmld-tctr.lha FMRKpdx-h2fx.lha It should be possible to identify, isolate and/or extract all the compressed code, even without mounting the image. |

Actually, FMRKpdx-h2fx.lha is truncated because the end of the disk image has been reached. I'm presently searching, when I can spare a few moments, for the remainder of the archive starting from the beginning of the disk image. I don't even know for sure whether it's there, but if it is, then I'll find it...

Have you tried mounting/booting the disk image in emulation? (I haven't got around to trying that yet.)
If so, what does it do? ![]() |

No, it doesn't contain a valid bootblock. To be honest as soon as I saw it didn't contain what I wanted I lost all interest in it
