Erm, no. It's just a homage to one of my favourite games of all time, not a sequel.

A real modern sequel would ruin the memories of the franchise forever.

Will probably try and use all sorts of stuff, including the remixes if the original authors let me use them, and some of my own stuff.

Here's a rough demo of a rework of the music that I recorded :

http://soundcloud.com/underphil/lotus-rock

Will perhaps re-record it into a full mix of each of the original tracks and get an engineer at work to mix and master it.

Im sure the authors will be happy to let you use thier music and if they wont its not a problem as with usual Amiga tradition....PIRATE THEM

Its getting more and more like a real amiga game every day

Well, I have used the original graphics mainly just because retouching or upscaling would lose a bit of the magic, but I won't be so conservative with the music. Using OGG/MP3 remixes will add to the download size but it's not about that, it's about creating a cool modern experience in the old style.

There's a few modern features in the display though. The roadsigns and trackside objects are all dynamically scaling with a touch of smoothing just add to the experience a bit.

Explain why this will ruin the franchise for Lotus, if you create a fourth?

I know that there is no fourth game, however if we are talking about Lotus IV, I opened a discussion, here's the link:

Here's a video I've just taken. Just shows the perspective effect when you move left and right, modification to the part of the engine that draws the hills/slopes, and some basic cornering physics just so I can start to play the tracks and see how they feel.

(Very short video!)
