C64 JiffyDOS question

I have a JiffyDOS rom with an on/off switch which I haven't installed yet because I need to desolder the old 28 pin kernal rom first (C64c rev. 4 mobo).

Question is do I have to piggyback the old kernal rom if I want to run standard C64 DOS or is that included in JiffyDOS aswell (hence the switch) ?

Nevermind, no piggyback method needed.

You better post your question at lemon64.com or comp.sys.cbm. Kamel

No need to, I figured it out already.

Btw why didn't they use IC sockets in newer C64s.

Cheaper manufacturing costs and the fact that CBM didn't officially support hardware mods like this
