Thanks for the Link to the footie Game

IMHO there are only a few footie games that stand out:

Sensible Soccer You gotta love it

Fifa (The Original megadrive Version) this was cool

Goal - I spent hours playing this

Manchester United in Europe - This was a GREAT Game

Microsoft International Soccer I know I know it's a Microsoft product but it was a good game (and not actually made by Microsoft)

Fifa, blazing fast?

I've played Fifa 94 on Mega-Drive, Sega CD, SNES and Amiga . They all are SLOW games. I like Fifa , but you have to admit, it's a SLOW paced game.

SWOS or Kick Off are blazing fast games.. Fifa is slow.

I'd add 'Sierra Soccer' and 'Football Glory' to that list.

For anyone who hasn't yet played it, Sierra Soccer on the miggy is a bit of a twist on the Sensi generation, and it's a hell of a good footy game. Try it

I agree i loved that game too it almost took over as my fave footy game on Amiga, the swearving crosses (Go beckham), the diving headers ahh sheer bliss.

Another game to add is Tehkan world cup (arcade) with the trackball.

Sierra Soccer is cool, I like it.

Football Glory plays like a bad version of SWOS.

Tehkan Wolrd Cup with a trackball RLZ!

Ah, Sierra Soccer. I only ever played a coverdisk demo of that one, but it made a pretty good impression. Was never going to replace Sensi, though. Seem to remember being able to bend the ball to a frightening degree. Novel at first, annoying after a while.

The other footy game I like is ISS series on N64 (now Gamecube).

ISS is good on PSX . The N64 version is full of "easy goals"...

Actually, I rank ISS on PSX "nearly as good as SWOS" ...

Easy goals in N64 ISS? Please elaborate, I'm interested.
Unfortunately, I have never played ISS on PSX, so cannot compare it to the N64 version. Are the keepers better? What is easy - crosses/headers? Dribbles round the keeper?

Yes, ISS rocks, because like Sensi, there is scope to create moves and control the overall tactics of your team with ease. I find the FIFA games to concentrate too much on the individual player on the ball, making tactical play cumbersome. And too much weight is put on individual tricks and ball-juggling, which is unrealistic, and leads to cheap goals.

Speaking of which, do you remember the classic 'easy goal' in early Sensi versions - saunter up to the edge of the box and slot the ball inside the near post? Hehe!

I believe this easy goal was only in Sensi 1.2 . I 'vescored about 6,421,456 goals using this technique (what's the right word, technic or technique? or none of both? )

Anyway, ISS 64 has LOTS of stuff like that. I have a friend who can score ANYTIME he wants, by adding aftertouch using the Z button. He just shoots, add aftertouch, and is GOAAAL.

There are some long shots that are just IMPOSSIBLE to be intercepted, and they always put your striker in a scoring position. (Don't remember how you do that, I think you had to hold R and press Through-pass , but I may be mistaken)

ISS on PSX = Winning Eleven = Pro Evolution Soccer = Whatever Konami feels like calling it Oh, the 97 version was called "Goal Storm 97" in western and "Winning Eleven" in east

But the good ones begun with Winning Eleven 3 (Or International Super Star Soccer 98), and all Konami soccer games for the PSX after that are simply "Nearly as good as Sensi"
