SEUCK Game Competition

Hi,

I ve added a new section to my website where I attempt to create an Amiga game using the various game creator tools available (SEUCK - Backbone - GRAC and eventually AMOS programming) - the idea is to blog my journey through the game creators and hopefully encourage others to attempt to make new games aswell.

To start things off I have decided to use SEUCK for the first game as it is probably the most accessible, before moving onto Backbone or GRAC and tackling the more difficult Amos -

Anyway I thought it might be fun to run a competition alongside the blog - creating a bit of a game making community - and hopefully inspire others who have never used these programs or made a game to have a go and hopefully get inspired to move onto more complex challenges or team up with others to make new games.

Therefore the first Game competition is launched today for SEUCK.

The deadline for submissions will be 1st October 2011 to tie in with Amigapd's one year birthday.

I will try to get some sort of prize for the winner.

For inspiration see the top ten SEUCK listed on

http://www.amigapd.com/top-ten-seuck.html

To see my current progress visit

Any questions just ask.

Great idea!

i only used SEUCK on the c64 (Light Fantastic Pack), i was a little too young to get anything great out of it....

time permitting i might give it a stab

i would also suggest that you look into Blitz, i wouldnt use it instead of AMOS(Pro) but it's supposed to be another good (if not more powerful) introduction into entry level programming

tips... http://www.seuck.retrogaming64.com/tips.html

Ok for the prizes - how about :

£30 for first prize -

Plus a runners up prize of some Amiga Cds probably - Now thats what I call games 3 - Amiga Public Domain CD containing about 100 pd / shareware games - works on CD32 - CDTV and Amiga 1200 with CD drive or winuae - plus another Amiga Public Domain cd - maybe one of the 17 Bit ones.

Will add a page to my website over the next couple of days to confirm this.

The Backbone competition will start after the SEUCK competition - so a launch date of Oct 2011 - but there is nothing to prevent you from starting work on the game now. There will be prizes available again.

I have very little knowledge about Backbone so have started a seperate thread to discuss Backbone games and keep this one focussed on the SEUCK Competition.
