Games which could run in serial mode (Amiga)?

Lotus II & III...

Can anyone else think of any using a pair of Amiga's?

Probably classed as an extreme kind of setup these days but two 500's running sde by side is still appealing to me

Populous. I think there's a page with them all listed somewhere.

Edit: Here's a list, http://www.mobygames.com/attribute/s...uteId,84/p,19/
Not the one I was thinking of though.

Edit: This one http://www.amiga-online-games.de/ (It keeps timing out though)

According to an interview, K240 was going to have (serial?) multi-player, but it was cut due to time and technical limitations.

K240 stores a lot of game state data that updates many times a second. The ship data alone is 37,800 bytes, or 54 bytes per ship for up to 700 ships. The Amiga 500 serial port can only do 19,200 bits/second.

Fighter Duel series..
In fact, they could do serial for 2 player, and I think at least one version (maybe others?) let you use a (parallel?) connection to another Amiga for a "rear view"...

Would be fun to see how (if) that actually works...

amiga-online-games.de has pretty extensive lists of games supporting various types of networking.

(Edit: Sorry, missed twiggy's post - AOG has been mentioned already)

Maybe not too extreme...
I picked up a bit ago, a serial to ethernet adapter that has "modem emulation" also..

They were really expensive (still are I think if you buy them new), but as people are moving to devices that use ethernet for management rather than serial, they are popping up on e-bait and elsewhere from time to time..

I was using one yesterday to connect to "telnet BBSes" from my A1000 using JRComm.
Then I thought about games..
Now, I have mine set for "modem emulation", so it would probably have to be these games:
http://www.mobygames.com/attribute/s...uteId,83/p,19/
This list looks more complete:
http://amiga-online-games.de/gamelis...tribut=netzart

But it also supports some kind of tunnel between two devices, so it should work with NULL serial games as well... Might require two of the same model tho, as I'm not sure if there was any standard for that. ;-)
