Same could be said about Natami ie announced by Thomas Hirsch released info on his project 2005 I think for the first version ie the C-One Natami. Yet none available for Consumer use.

http://www.natami.net/

If im Wrong natami Followers maybe you should update the wiki and Natami.net

The natami crew showed screenshots, produced prototypes and spill a more or less steady stream of information. The vapor is getting denser.

All I know of Clone A is that Jens is still working on it some way or another. Nothing wrong with that, but the project's status could be anywhere from nearly finished to paper only.

I think Jens wants to surprise everyone and doesn't wont to give too much away has Natami or another project may use his ideas.

I agree with you that Clone_A is more in the dark has less information.

http://www.jschoenfeld.com/news/news123_e.htm

Clone A has had a public demonstration according to that but I dont know if it been updated to handle AGA yet.

I watched google video of it but google have deleted it and not put into there youtube.

found the interview with Total amiga link

It's pretty well accepted that Jens 'finished' CloneA ages ago, I assume the difficulty has been to turn it into something that could be marketed

IF clone A is equal if not better than Natami, I think it should get good sales especially if Clone_A is cheaper than Natami rumoured to be priced similar to sam power pc main-boards.

Please point this warning suggestion toward digiflip where it belongs, as he has been trashing Natami in every thread he posts in, whether it has anything to do with FPGA systems, or not.

I am sick and tired of his crap and I have nothing to do with the Natami project.

I tend to agree... The amount of posts where he refers to the NatAmi project whem he wants to talk about the Clone-A is quite interesting. So yes, I second what I said now, but will let the posts stay in here. Next time digiflip wants to compare the two, he should think about it twice, because there's enough of it now here.

Heh - you ended up being right, Digiflip.

Wonder if this project is getting nearer?

Well, probably a hollow "victory" to be correct in "natami" being vaporware - in a thread about another vaporware.

Both the clone-a and the natami (whatever name it'll be under) might and might not be released some time in the future, though.

I don't know but I just found this:
http://www.digilentinc.com/Products/...TOKEN=60113702

I'd like to try putting a 68k softcore into one of those.

I know its a sore point with all the projects seeming to take for ever to come to fruition, only to seem to fade away for one reason or another.

It seems to be the nature of the retro community to refute and put down a project until it actually shows the light of day, look at the negativity that Dennis got about the Minimig while he was developing it (the "This cannot be done" comments), but he persevered. I wonder how many of those who were giving the Minimig negative posts, actually own one now.

Anyway, Maybe the NATAMI or Clone-A will be finished in the future. Who knows. Next project nearing completion (as far as I know) is FPGA Arcade (And lets face it, was due to Minimig showing what can be done).

Who would have thought, Amiga in an FPGA.....

The criticism of Dennis was never rational, I think it was caused by a surreal misunderstanding of technology in some people. Maybe they thought amigas were made of unicorn magic or something.

Natami.. well, is Natami.

As for the FPGA Arcade, the guy doing that has been making FPGA cores for years and has actually released various cores for folk to download and use, I guess that means he's someone with a track record of delivering.

Realistically, I think anyone that has seen people working with FPGA's would have expected someone to make an FPGA Amiga, there are some very skilled folk out there.

Board I posted above has Spartan 6 FPGA, HDMI, ethernet, USB, audio out, 128Mb DDR2, and can be had for $350. It's made for testing custom CPU cores. If someone has an Amiga core surely that could handle it, I'm tempted to get one myself to play around with.

Careful, once people realise you can program FPGA's they'll start bugging you with a shopping list of hardware they want

Clone-A would be nonsense nowadays: certain designers have archieved ~100% compatibility using the same idea (FPGA hardware implementation) just with open solutions, like the Minimig V1.1 or the DE1 board

No MiniMig is ECS now and basically 100% compatible, I think it also has some kind of turbo function.

For AGA you'll need an FPGA Arcade (if you can get one!).

I don't think we'll ever see CloneA though

One thing is for sure though, the age of FPGA hardware is here

I'm sure someone will create some more FPGA goodies soon.
