The guy is an asshole, have you read his other reviews? Either he never ever had any of these consoles at the time and is probably not a gamer OR he is the best journalist in the world creating controversial articles to boost ratings.

I think he's too dumb for the latter.

Code:
Consoles that were easily worse than the Saturn;

Jaguar
3DO
32X
MegaCD
CDi
Amiga CD-32
Amiga CD32 worse? Not for me. Games are different, I love most of them, that's enough for me.

I agree with the code block.

All of those consoles are much, much worse than the Sega Saturn.

Yeah, push my sweet little Jaguar around you bullies!

Given the list of consoles in his SNES article, he should simply do his homework first, before making such a statement.

Be honest, the CD32 really sucked ass. Most titles were direct ports of Amiga floppy disk versions. No improvements at all, vast majority had no CD-Audio even!

Yes, but they were still good games even without improvements.

Take away all the games that were not CD32 originals and you are not left with much to play with.

If your into fighters then this is the next best thing next to the Neo Geo I love my Saturn and i am about to add a 50/60hz switch soon

Great fighter's include:

Vampire Saviour (a.k.a Darkstalkers in US and Vampire Hunter in Japan)
Street Fighter Alpha, Alpha Zero and Zero 3
Waku Waku 7
Astra Superstars
Samurai Shodown 3 and 4 (Samurai Spirits in Japan)
X-Men: Children of the Atom
X-Men vs Street Fighter
Marvel vs Street Fighter
World Heroes Perfect
King of Fighters 95, 96 and 97
Cyberbots: Full Metal Madness
Golden Axe: The Duel
Mortal Kombat 2, and Ultimate 3
Asuka 120% Burning Fest. Limited
Fatal Fury 3, and Special
Real Bout: Fatal Fury

+ some more.....

The Saturn was awesome with 2D games and was even better than the Dreamcast at 2D (my opinion from my own experience ) and it wiped the floor with the PS1 when it came to 2D animation... like i said it's up there with the Neo Geo for beautiful 2D

3DO was better than the Saturn all the others in that list are worse but then most of them came out earlier so even though Sega f'ed up with the hardware it still "techncally" better than those before it.

Define better? Of the games I personally saw the on the 3DO, the vast majority stunk and I believed that was why it was a commercial failure.

If someone says Sega Saturn you automatically think "Shenmue, Panzer Dragoon, Radiant Silver gun" and countless Sega arcade ports such as "Sega Rally, Virtua Fighter 2, Virtua Cop" and 10's of personal favourites.

If someone says 3DO you think.... erm.... and then you think.... erm.... Road Rash? It had no "classic, platform defining, must have," titles that I knew of. Anything?

I think the 3DO was in no way better than the Saturn The Saturn has better hardware and more games which led it to be more successful than the 3DO (and cheaper than the 3DO at launch ).

I do like some of the 3DO titles and i did have a 3DO.... but be realistic here, it is up there with other failures such as the Sega 32X, Sega MegaCD and Atari Jaguar etc... It has maybe a couple of gems but the rest of it's games were pure trash! And the PAL version of the console was a disaster with the biggest borders i have ever seen and more slow-down than any other PAL system out there! (watching it run Doom was a joke!)

Erm, all the big EA games started off on on the 3D route on 3DO, FIFA, Need for Speed.

This was back when EA actually made good games too.

Anyway by better I mean better looking games, urgo capable of more eye candy. The fact that the 3DO was too expensive thus leading to very few "decent" games being made for it is neither here nor there.

Also PS1 > than everything in it's generation and before

Tbh, I'd say that most Amiga games have aged a LOT better than most PS1 games.

It's because they looked shit when we first played them, the SNES had far better looking games than our Amigas could do and the megadrive also had one or two, PS1 games used to look good.

Videos of Need For Speed 3DO look poor compared to Sega Rally or Daytona USA. Was it any good?

FIFA is crap no matter what the platform IMO
