Amiga Worldwide Phenomenon - International Battle

On a different subject in a different forum, I posted a Worldwide Phenomenon thread that proved to be extremely popular. So today I thought what the hell, let's have some fun and get it going elsewhere because if theres one thing the Amiga is, its a Worldwide Phenomenon!

The Amiga Worldwide Phenomenon describes perfectly the profound affect this machine has had in the hearts and minds of millions. People from many different nationalities enjoy/enjoyed being a part of a truly amazing scene - one that still has a following and strong user-base even today.

But out of all these nations, which one is THE Amiga Capital?

Which country can claim to have the most dedicated user base and the biggest collection of Amiga systems?

What country is the Amiga Daddy?

Well its time to find out EAB brothers in the first ever International Battle of the Amigas!

Post your nationality and number of Amiga systems. Ill then form a leaderboard of the competing nations fighting it out for top spot.

Here are the rules:
_____________________________

1) In order to keep UK members happy, Ill separate us into England, Scotland, Wales and Ireland/N.Ireland.

2) Only 1 Amiga user vote will be counted per EAB member, but multiple systems owned by that member may be listed.

3) The leaderboard will be decided on the greatest number of owners first and systems after.

4) All rules are subject to change at any time at Bloodwychs discretion.
_____________________________

Ok, let the international rivalry begin!

In order to get things rolling, Ill go first:

Chalk one vote down for good old England the greatest Amiga country on the planet!

Systems in use 1 x A1200

I'm Greek, and I'm an Amigaholic. We still have an active Amiga scene here, but we're definetely not the champions. I have an A1200.

Arrow Another competitor...

The Netherlands never had the largest Amiga user base. The PC already took our hearts when the C64 still reigned supreme. Now call that a bad taste! *sigh*

Anyway, I have a single A500 in mint condition in my posession.

Canada: 1 x A500, 1 x A2000HD. Both working and used.

There was a huge number of users here at one point... there are at least 3 large clubs I know of that are still active in Montreal, Ottawa, and Calgary. I sorta doubt many are members of EAB though...

OMG Paul Hahahahahah! LOL What are you doing to Fred on your Alien machine

No anal probes I hope :eek We Earthlings know what you perverted Aliens are like.

To answer your querie ANY COMPLETE Amiga system you have will count in the leaderboard, even if it's not working. Incomplete systems (like an A1200 motherboard) don't count.

What's classed as a valid Amiga system is down to my discretion so give it a go! I'll let you know if someone posts an illegal entry.

I'll update the leaderboard after a few more votes.

The scene here sucked back then and it sucks right now. I know quite a bunch of Amiga fanatics and of those, only two are decent, the rest are bullshitting morons who tell you that they have to properly cool their Amigas because the dual 1800Mhz G4 inside heats up quite a bunch, and "please be quiet I am talking with Dino Dini in the phone"! (I mean it, I heard this here!)

Anyway, I hate them all...

My country is Argentina (*blerghh*, you can put Japan though )

I own:

1xA600HD (2MB Chip 30MB HD )
1xA1200 (030@50 2MB Chip 32MB Fast 1GB HD)

I think the UK's gonna win here, but I'd say Germany's got the biggest Amiga user/fanatic base. Or at least it would be a close call between Germany and the UK.
Germany was great for Commodores, the C64's best selling year was 1992! I bet most people have switched to 16bit by then

Anyway, chalk up Argentina's only entry.

As from tomorrow...

England
2xA1200

so this is leaderboard of where people own Amigas, not where th best software was created then? where the actual scene was/is the strongest...

If it was Games production then i'd say England
If it was Software cracking then i'd say Sweden
If it was the Demo scene then i'd say Germany

or have i mis-read the question, as usual!!!

Brazil

1 x A500
1 x A600

both non-working.

Brazil had a small but nice Amiga scene in the past, but now it's as good as dead. I can't find ONE SINGLE Amiga user around here.

Ok, I am lying.. I found Fissuras

Oh, and in the MSX Fair I was last saturday, there was an Amiga user. I told him about EAB, but it seems like he didn't paid us a visit.
