Floppy disk A1000 Softkick Help

I wasn't sure to ask support.Hardware this, but I'm having trouble softkicking my A1000 to 2.04 (37.175). I'm using ykick, a variant of zkick, because my memory does not autoconfig to $200000, so I can point ykick to the proper address.

Anyway, I'm not even there yet. I point ykick to the KS 2.04 ROM file I have on the disk, and ykick tells me "Failure", and that the file given is not Kickstart 37.175. Is there a special version of the ROM I need to be using? According to the manual, I need "The Commodore (or ZKick) A500/2000 kickfile37.175".

Try Twinkick from Aminet.
You need a Kickfile or Kickdisk with Kick1.3 and a Kickfile with Kick3.1 (all of them unmodified, means original).
Twinkick-Generator / TKG.EXE (from Aminet-Archiv) read and patch them.
At the end you hold a Twinkick-Disk in your hand.

Twinkick is a "normal" Kickstart-Disk for the A1000, turn on the machine and boot from this Disk.
Leave the Disk inside and it countine to boot into Kick3.1, a short manual will be displayed during the second bootstep.

Twinkick supports autoconfig AND NONAUTOCONFIG memory at $200000 ;-) even under OS3.1.

Thanks for the suggestion, but unfortunately, I am unable to use Twinkick. I tried it and actually had success in making the disk, but my memory is not at $200000 like Twinkick wants. It's an internal expansion (DKB Insider II), not a side expansion, which puts it at $C00000 when auto-config is enabled and I think $800000 when auto-config is not enabled. Weird, huh? Plus, the expansion is only 1.5MB, not 2MB, which is another requirement of Twinkick.
The reason I am using ykick is because I am able to tell it that my memory is at $C00000 instead of $200000.

Kickfiles must be special designed for other memoryareas.
SKick is able to handle your problem, it can read and patch
org. kickimages from rom to every memorylocation.

Aminet - SKick ;-)

According to Aminet, Skick only works with Amiga systems that have a 2.0 ROM. I have an A1000, so that's out of the quesion. =[

.. buy a nice external 2mb membox and everything is fine.

Or hardwire a rom inside your a1000.

I emailed DJBase for a ROM adapter in case I ultimately decide to go with a ROM.
As for an external RAM expansion, I've been interested in one, but is there an easy way to locate and buy one, or do I just need to wait for them to pop up on eBay and Amibay? They seem to be difficult to find for the A1000, though I suppose I could settle for a A500 expansion, even though it would look silly and require support.

Update: I discovered ZKick has a special option for using $C0 memory, which is awesome. But, I don't think it likes my copy of 37.175, because it's telling me there is an "error reading" it. Is there anything specific that has to be done with the ROM in order for it to be used with ZKick?
