hiya,

New BETA coming with screen requester

Only the RTG versions support Broken Sword (AGA would be too slow).

Make sure you never use compressed audio files with ScummVM (eg MP3) because they aren't supported.

Update:

Ratte came good, check out Curse of Monkey Island running on his 90Mhz 060 -> ScummVM RTG

BTW these are the game's original system requirements

Code:
System requirements
Pentium 90 MHz processor
16 MB RAM
Video card
DirectX version 5.0 or higher

Ok a new RTG BETA is ready (v1.3.1.003) in the Zone.

This one has a screen requester so it may also work with CyberGFX, please test and let me know if it works ok.

You must setup at least 320x200, 320x240 and 640x480 8bit modes before you run ScummVM RTG.

You must choose the correct chunky (non-native) mode otherwise ScummVM RTG will quit.

I've also added a new TOOLTYPE 'SCREEN_UPDATE_MODE' set this to 'TURBO' to increase speed (may not work with CyberGFX.....please test).

Hi NovaCoder It works on CGX but i cant get broken sword to work it complaining about the intro. if i delete the cutscenes its stops and if i use mpeg2 it not supported anymore an dxa doesnt work because not compiled with zlib or something

i hope you can fixed that small problem to.

or a fix to skip the intros???

monkey island runs playable fullscreen.

Just update your INI file with the following to open in a 320x240 mode:

Code:
aspect_ratio=true

Hi Roy even on P96 you can make a screen mode of 320x200 its a bit puzzling with your monitor range but i have it on my 1200 with picasso96.

As you can see, neither Broken Sword or Lure of the temptress is supported by ScummVM RTG (too buggy on 68k!).

Also in the ScummVM readme it tells you that you have to copy the 'SKY.CPT' file from the install directory in the game directory to run Beneath a Steel Sky on ScummVM.

You have to also do this to get some of the other games working, eg. Flight of the Amazon Queen.

Have you guys patch your memory copy routines yet?

You probably won't notice much difference between CopyMem060 and CMQ060 on a 68060. CopyMem060 is faster at small copies which are more common but it takes lots of them to be "noticeable". There is a speed chart as tested in the readme comparing CopyMem060 to CMQ060 and other patches ...

http://aminet.net/util/boot/CopyMem.readme

CopyMem040 is significantly faster than CMQ060 (there is no CMQ040) on a 68040. CopyMem040 is in the CopyMem archive.

hi novacoder

i probably had a duff copy of the games in question,as some of them have been heavely chopped up with cut scenes missing.

as for the copymem routines done it .no worries there.

Thanks for this. Great to have Discworld and the SCI games now playable on RTG.

Been testing on WinUAE will try it on my A1500 eventually... A few notes:

Your date stamps are wrong maybe you need to upgrade your LHA?

http://aminet.net/util/arc/lha_68k.lha

Launching a game by cli no longer works will you be reimplimenting that? I like to launch games with their own project icon.

Attempting to add the amiga versions (dowloaded from BTTR) of some SCI games on your list results in ScummVM locking up (Hoyles, Colonel's Bequest, Hero's Quest).
Most of the others work - there are a few I haven't tried yet.
It looks like the colours on Conquest of the Longbow are messed up? (Never played it before) - These may be general ScummVM engine problems?

The Humungous games are missing from your list. All the 320 res games work but none of the 640 res. Working games are (only demos tested):

Fatty Bears Birthday Surprise
Putt Putt Goes to the Moon
Putt Putt Joins the Parade

OpenQuest also works.

People with fast systems should also try ScummVM 0.10.0r2:

http://www.amigafuture.de/downloads....ail&df_id=2050

It supports Broken Sword 1/2 and COMI with anims as well as Inherit the Earth, many of the 640 res Humungous games, Feeble Files, Gobliiins 1-3, Bargon Attack, Touche,
Ween e.t.c.

It is also worth keeping hold of version 1.2.0 as this allows higher scaling.
