AGA can do 640*480 non interlaced in 256 colors at 60 Hz. I thought the game was 256 colors as well when I checked the screenshots but it was the dithering that fooled me of course. It's a great looking remake.

Theres no need for it, I doubt the game would look much different in 256 colours. Lots of shades of the same colour used.

Fantastic. I loved playing the HoH PC remake. I'll really get a lot of fun from this too I'm sure.

There is a port of allegro for Wii, I'd like to have a go at doing a port as I've just started building Wii apps.

Sorry, currently the high-profile consoles are not on the port list because mostly they need to be hacked/jailbroken for the homebrew to work and we would like to keep the remake low-profile because we do not have a licence to use BatMan name (even though the remake is free). We would really not like to get into trouble.

Whoah, this is quite impressive!

This is really so good it could easily have been a commercial indie release, I love the graphics and the music is good too.

And also - it really plays like the original as far as I can tell, I've played that one a fair bit.

A bit hooked on it at the moment, decided I'll try mapping it all out this time... I used to always get lost when playing the original, was too lazy to map it

Thanx you guys!

Release version 1.1 with added new room which we missed. It is a well hidden room that wasn't in any of the maps... found it on youtube in the MSX walkthrough.
Also some sound effects are changed (hopefully for the better) and some bug fixes added.

The map for batman and some other great info can be found here: http://www.giantbomb.com/batman/61-16856/

and a great guide from Jon ritman himself on how he wrote the Isometric engine. http://dkozar.com/documents/Jon_Ritm...c_Tutorial.pdf

I didn't enter any rooms only to get a higher percentage, wasn't sure if you had to do that... I might try playing it again and enter the useless rooms as well

By the way, here is the map I drew in MS Paint while playing
It was drawn while playing the game so it's pretty messy

Normal sized version

Main part of the score is whether you finish the game or not, then the number of bat craft parts you pickup and then the number of rooms you visited...

Going to play the remake of Head over Heels next, love these remakes! Very impressive.

Really like this 'genre' of games, especially when they're so convenient to map (mostly single screens/no areas that keep scrolling for long and logically laid out... unlike certain games such as Last Ninja 3 where the screens aren't logically connected at all)

Hey cool, interesting to see how that works.

But yeah, mapping games is actually fun when the maps are as convenient to map and logically laid out like in Batman.

So I started playing Head over Heels now, never played this one before.

And again - very, very impressive remake! Love the graphics, I like them maybe even better than in Batman since there are several very varied areas here... I mean several big areas with their own graphics, not like in Batman where there are varied graphics but more 'random', from room to room.

Also, even though the game is much larger... I get the impression it's easier to finish without drawing a map than Batman would be.. as once you get to that 'moon' section, it seems each area you can teleport to from there (where the crowns are) are seperate areas.

However, actually mapping the game is more stressful though since there are teleports in this game. Since I'm mapping while playing, like in Batman, my map is becoming really messy

EDIT -
As I was playing the game and drawing my map here, I noticed this game seems easier than Batman even though it's quite a bit bigger... as unlike Batman this one has several 'levels', areas you enter and then leave never to worry about again. So I'm thinking making a map might have been a waste of time but as I had already done so much, I thought I might as well finish it
Nearly done now I think, here's my incredibly messy map... but I can read it well enough so, that's what matters I guess

EDIT 2 - finished it

EDIT 3 - and just finished Batman again
