A wallpaper from me

I prepared this wallpaper for myself and thought other eabers might want to have it too. Especially Ian with his new PPC

Great

Do you have yours in 800x600 then??

I haven't used mine much yet, but I'm sure I'll use your picture after I've tried WarpOS and then OS3.9 if WarpOS turns out to be shite

Very nice, Burseg! Consider it leeched.

@Ian, if I understand your point about WarpOS correctly: Despite the name, WarpOS is not a replacement for AmigaOS. Rather, it is a kernel for PowerPC, which works within + alongside AmigaOS. Large parts of AmigaOS (up to 3.9) remain dependent on the 68k processor, so the PowerPC chip is only used when called upon.

AmigaOS4 is supposedly to be 100% PPC.

May be of interest: MorphOS is a third-party project which is basically a PPC-native AmigaOS replacement. The developers cried foul at Amiga Inc, as they complained that their work was being ignored. I haven't been following the story for some time, so maybe they have worked out their differences.

If you knew all of this, sorry!

I didn't know that, I'm new to all this PPC malarky as Burseg will tell you, his PM box has been quite busy since I got it

I thought WarpOS was a stand alone OS, so I install OS3.9 and then install WarpOS on top of it?

No need for separate installation. It is installed as part of OS3.9.

Just be glad I didn't confuse matters by mentioning the WarpUp vs PowerUp kernal wars.

Or Warp3D, for that matter!

Me three.

@RCK: Please provide parameters for 'retro gaming', i.e. a general idea of what we're aiming for, so we don't end up with a million different boing ball wallpapers. Do we include stuff like characters from other systems (Sonic, Mario, other stuff like that)? Or are we not incorporating copyrighted stuff?

I've got no problem if someone wants a hundred Marios on their wallpaper...

Let's only focus to the amiga retro-gaming world (logos / hardwares / gaming heros)

Smile I'm working on mine, boss

Although my definition of 'working' is probably slightly more approximate than your own...

How long you got?
