Hello from Australia

Hello to All

Have been a long time reader of EAB and user of Emulators but after a visit to my Dad's place on the weekend I am now back to using the real thing.

I have not had an Amiga computer since the late 90s when I had a CD32 and SX1 Module but I now have in my possession an Amiga A1200 with Blizzard 1260. Dad was throwing out of lot of stuff and I did not realize how much further he went with the Amiga. (I went to the dark side as it was called in the day around '99).

I also have on the way an Amiga A4000/030 which I have always dreamed of owning back in the day.

So really looking forward to getting back into playing on the Amiga and contributing to the community. (Now to remember how it all worked).

Talk Soon

Welcome, some nice kit you have there.

Don't worry about remembering, I still have no idea how it all works. The guys here have a lot of patience, believe me

Hey there, Evan! Welcome back into the fold, you've picked a good time to come back to the Amiga scene, it seems more alive now than it has in years! I hope your dad didn't throw out any good stuff, Amiga hardware still sells pretty well.

Where abouts in Australia are you? We've got our own Australian Amiga Users Group here on EAB, so don't forget to join: http://eab.abime.net/group.php?groupid=4 and if you want, you can plot yourself on the global Amiga users map: http://map.minimig.net/

What kind of things do you want to do with your Amigas? I use mine for all sorts of things other than games, they're pretty fun to use online if you're not interested in browsing modern websites with it. There's heaps of new software to try out, we even have Twitter and MSN clients for OS3! And there's this online Bomberman-style game you've got to try out called Dynamite, where you can battle with a group of friends on the net.

Hi PopOffValve,

Welcome back from the dark side.

Those two Amigas you've acquired should get you off to a good start.

I thought that was only a saying that my mate Marty and Karl made up when they went to the PC!? Your father's name is not Karl by any chance is it? I am also in Australia, situated in Melbourne Good to have you aboard.
