@RCK
Will there be a prize of a free EAB T-shirt for anyone who can count the number of machines? (only joking, I think it would be impossible)

Stick out tongue

@RCK. Q3 duel? You wimp. Why don't you take on someone playing Star Wars Jedi Knight 2? No hiding behind a mega-gun then, one to one lightsaber combat!!

Is Jedi Knight II actually any good? I actually bought this game when it came out but it sat on the shelf until I had finished Medal of Honour and Ive just never got round to playing it.

Medal of Honour has for me personally ruined every other FPS game out there as its quite simply a stunning game.

Only played the demo of it so far Big-Byte, though it's being played to death!! I like it, but that's probably just some Yoda-like pathological instinct's coming out!!
Hoping I'll be able to get it soon to try it out....
Love knocking imperial troop's off into big huge drop's with the force though!!

Hmmm that picture reminded me of TG99 (The gathering). It is
a amiga/pc (mostly pc now though) party, wich is organized
in a big ice skate-hall (about 5000 users or something like that).

Always some amiga releases too , but the party is getting lamer
and lamer every year (less scene, more gaming/leeching)..

Jedi Knight rocks.

Q3? I agree, wimpy game. I am not into those kamakazi style frag-a-thons - though they used to get my blood pumping - just got bored I guess...

I'll play you at CS for a t-shirt though!

*Can't wait for Condition Zero!*

Have you been to one? That would rock...

I would rather do gaming over than monster LAN than scene stuff though - call me "leamur" if you will

I just love Q3 cause there is no hazard in the game, you don't lose cause one impossible headshot, you lose because you are not enough trained and lack of strategie & skill. Moreover, the mouvements are fast & very precise.
Well, I suppose people have to play a lot of hours before finding those kind of sensation

damn, no challeger ?

Yeuck. I also hate Q3. I also didn't find CS THAT good too.

For multiplayer fun on FPS, I recommend Duke Nukem 3D and Shadow Warrior. The graphics may be simple, but those are the most fun FPSs ever done.

I have no idea of what's the hell is happening on this picture, but who sent me counted 1000 computers.

The best FPS as far as multiplay goes is Blood.

FPS games need fatalities

Ich bin mit Akira und Twist. FPS games are the spawn of Doom and Castle Wolfenstien. I curse the creators of these games to an eternity of having a massive boulder pressed against their chest as they lie in a pool of sulfuric acid and are forced to listen to the "Best of Yma Sumac" album forever and ever.

So... Anyone seen Unreal Tournament 2003?

Seriously though - I just like games. Old ones, new ones, whatever. I think there are the occasional good ones amoung the heaps of FPS crap - and many are crap, that is why they have got such a bad name. Not all are crap though. I don't really think that the games companies have really taken advantage of the game form yet. I am sure it will happen one day - either that - or you will get the occasional decent game come out.

Take Half Life, that has got to be the most absorbing game I have ever played. I really did think I was Gordan Freeman, and boy did those creepy face huggers make me jump!

Not a game for the weak hearted.

Recently, I found Jedi Knight almost as good - but for different reasons... I played it before I saw Epi-2 - and it is so similar to the Jedi! They were my collegues in the fight against the dark force... Probably one of the reasons why I liked the film so much. And fighting with a light sabre is just too cool...

I have no opinion on FPS games, as I don't go in for them much. Same with RPGs. Maybe it's the 3-letter acronyms. Dunno.

Anyway, FPS schmefPS. Let's put an Amiga slant on this. What those guys should be playing is a grand Super Skidmarks tourney. Now, that takes skill and ruthlessness to win. The faint sound of an anguished nerd on the other side of the hall, as he is taken out with a sideswipe...

Question Who has played Genetic Species?

Me! Me!

Nice playability and good atmosphere, and technically impressive considering the low hardware spec it demands. Nice lighting.

The bad guys need to be a little more menacing, though.

Funny thing. A few years ago, I did the same with Capcom because they created Street Fighter 2, and then 9 of 10 new games were beat'em ups. Today I enjoy beat'em ups more than in the past

Athoulgh I agree the case with FPSs are much worse today.

Super Skidmarks on a lan would be MUCH MORE FUN than any FPS anyday . I personally don't like online gaming too much, there's no interaction with other people, and it feels too lonely and sad

Playing on lan with friends is better.

Apart from in Counter-Strike of course - with a voice activated headset.

Things get *very* tactical when you can talk to your team mates!

I agree. Q3A is fast and furious, with no irritating head shots to slow you down. It's much faster than UT, the weapons are better and more evenly balanced, the graphics and sounds are better, the levels and characters are more interesting...it beats UT hands down IMO.

I'm not one for tactics, so I don't like Counterstrike either. I find the whole CS damage setup unfair- you can fill an enemy's kneecaps with lead with a submachine gun, but they won't go down. Then they take you out with one shot. It's frustrating.

I thought Half-Life was boring. Most of the game was crawling through air vents and watching the scenery change. In fact, you might say this was half of the game's life.

I am not alloooonneee

I play under the nick "Heffa" and usually play on UK, French, German or any other server with a low ping from the UK. Frequently playing when I should be doing CAPS stuff, but you know what it is like - an addiction!

I don't like CS, but I thought Half Life was great. One of the best PC games ever. So much atmosphere, along with Thief 2.

Recently, my fav multiplayer game has been Mechwarrior 4. Yes, I know it is a Microsoft product:eek , and I don't like Microsoft either, but it is such a great game, and it's awesome in multiplayer mode. Very fast, a good difficulty that pleases both experts and beginners, and a real sense of being on the battlefield. Weapons are very satisfying too
