@ Schoenfeld

What about the target price of A600's accelerator?

It is not reported in the first post of this thread

This is a thing of beauty. Looking forward to both A600 and A1200 accelerators, will probably buy both., Starting to save now!

Just kidding. Thanks for taking time out to answer my questions. Just thought I would ask what I am sure a few in the community were thinking. To be fair, I am sure most of us have something a little beefier than the original A600 21W power supply, even if it is a A500 60W supply. Fingers crossed on the disable switch. I only asked about that because I was sure I read somewhere you were not planning to do one for the A630. Maybe I confused it with the A1230 model.

Thanks again for the answers, and keep up the good work! keep building, and I will keep buying!

If you ever make it to London, I will buy you a drink!

Is there any advantage over setting the boot priority of the boot partition over 7 (DF0:)?

The drive is not accessed during boot time and you still can use it.

Anyways, great stuff!!! My A600 can't wait :)

...and if you now have Huey Lewis And The News in your head, you know you're a Nerd ;-)

ppill: An unconnected df0: is seen as "unreadable disk", which takes the computer a few seconds during boot-time. You wouldn't care on a Windoze machine, but on an Amiga that boots within less than 10 seconds, a 3-second wait feels like ages. That's why the "no disk" jumper is there.

For creating a proper mechanical mounting system, I could hug you: as an ex-620 owner, I cannot overstate how much I appreciate that single bit of proper design

The rest looks awesome. Sign me up for one!

Looks sweet. If these take off...any chance of anything meatier?

And iv'e always wanted to know...could a graphics chip be added to a trapdoor expansion? (with a processor expansion as well) ...just something iv'e always hankered after.

I dont think there is enough access directly to the custom chips for a Trapdoor Graphics chipset. If it was possible, there is just not enough access time (ns) to make it viable.

Then again I could be wrong, but I dont think you could shift enough bits, in short enough time to display frames quick enough.., unless the Trapdoor card had its own VGA output. Thats why Indivision clips directly over lisa.., and even that has its own output.

No, you probably couldn't use the existing chipset but you could build something dedicated to the accelerator - the bvision does this, for example...

Will an A600 with this acc, A603 and CF HDD (w/ adapter) have the space for the internal floppy drive? I really like the floppy drive, so I would rather have it inside. I know it's outdated to have it, but it's kind of nostalgic and great for a few things (like booting the Workbench floppies for a fresh install).

Great work, I guess I'll buy one (save money time!).

With all the screws and mechanics that I'm thinking of for the 600, there will be no way of "quickly removing" the accel. I'll look into a hard-disable-switch for the ACA630, but can't promise anything at this point.

Confirmed. However, with all the extra heat in the A600 case, I like the idea of free space created by removing the disk drive and using the disk slot as an "exhaust" for a low-noise, low-speed fan. You might want to dig out your old external disk drive because I *may* make it a requirement to remove the internal one (depends on thermal tests).

For all of you who had something bad in mind: "RTFM" is a hint at my way-too-short manuals that fit on a single A4 sheet of paper. The abbreviation stands for "Read The Folded Manual"
