AWESOME!!!

@Amigakit
you should put up some common bench marks showing HOW much modern it all is

The 28MHz frequency may have some Amigan's expecting a lesser performance compared to the 40 and 50mhz brethern - knowing what we know about the architecture of the card - it would be good to really show its performance against other "known" cards =)

Can I just say - 83 + postage for a 64MB 030 capable of about 6.6Mips is Amazingly good value!

And now I am very upset as I have to choose DENEB, Indivision ECS, A1200 030 accelerator or save up for the A600 varient...

damn...

About 9 Mips?! I seem to remember sysinfo screenshots indicating roughly 6,8 mips for the 28 mhz version? Have I missed something?

I don't know if someone has asked before, but what about overclocking?

As soon as Individual Computers give us the nod to add it we will. The ACA 1230/28 will arrive first so we are happy to take the orders for that.

I hope there will be the RTFM! sign in the production version of ACA 630!

no sir - it was my mistake; I was reviewing the 56mhz units - as such I have corrected the error in my post - well spotted

...and the 56MHz version is even in the range of 12.4 Mips with all the final optimizations of the SD-Ram interface. Don't know where the 9 came from.

so short,
Jens

Oh, well in that case it should've been about 12,5 Mips

Still, as you say, amazingly good value

impressed as I am with these new cards, I am amused how important the often dismissed "Meaningless Indicator of Processor Speed" unit of measure has become so very important!

Are we not just taking it as some kind of indicator? Personally I just want to add a bit of oomph to a stock 1200. I'll of course run sysinfo and marvel at the <clarkson>POWWWERRRRRR</clarkson> but I won't really care all that much, it's just nice to measure like for like in some way or other?

@amigakit, hopefully some pre-orders will give you and Jens some measure of how far you can realistically push production of these things

Does that mean that it will be permanently fixed or soldered?

I would love to have the 56mhz version but as it sits right now I have a stock 1200 with no memory and can't run much of anything except this Chessmaster floppy it came with. That gets old fast.
