Matt Chat 74: Dune II

Matt crossed the scorched sands of Arrakis (taking some minor shortcuts by ornithopter) to bring us his latest episode on Dune II by Westwood. The spice must flow!

Never understood why Amiga Dune II is Battle for Arrakis, while PC Dune II is Building of a dynasty.

Thanks, Gilgamesh! You definitely a way with words. The spice must flow indeed!

It's my understanding that Building of a Dynasty was the original name, but it was re-titled for the European market (at least that's what it says on Wikipedia). Obviously they needed a way to distinguish it from Cyro's Dune. I would have gone with another title and not used the II since it wasn't a proper sequel.

Hi Matt. Very nice review, also technically. I hope your next chat will be about Burton Bird. Seems almost nobody likes it, except me

Thanks. There's a channel on YouTube by a professor of English, and I watch all his shows. So I better had.
I agree to Predseda. The blue screen stuff looks cool. How did you do that?

Btw. did I mention that I love anything Arrakeen? I bought the game as a special offer when Amiga games were sorted out. At least one disk was bad though, so I never really played the game.
