No. Netbook peformance, dead cpus which have nothing in common with the 68k, PC like architecture combined with workstation prices make me laugh.

It's a sad parody. A small step above sticking Amiga stickers on 486 PCs.
Thanks but no thinks. I like my Amigas to be genuine.

No.

Thinking about a sam440 and even then it's only out of a geeky desire to try 4.1 and I will struggle to justify the cost. It'd basically lack anything useful due to lack of support (is there even a decent web browser?).. it's a lot to pay out for 99% curiosity and 1% usefulness. Over 1k for this new thing? Forget it. I buy into Apple stuff and even they don't take the piss that much!

No, 1K is now massive bucks in computing terms - you can get so much gear for that money.

Love Amiga, don't love 1k expenditure!

Wow, I thought the X1000 was meant to be a computer!

By the look of the responses, it would appear that the company has gone into the lead balloon making business. I know that I wouldn't buy one unless it was about 30 brand new

You envious lot just can't stand it when people can afford an obscure piece of hardware (with amaizing watt/op ratio and 5 secs boot time) that makes everything from Apple look like a discount offer.

Shame on you.

The only reason it has a good energy rating is cos it will be turned off most of the time.

I see It isn't out yet, so I guess we should save the final judgement until the final price and specs are given.

I would love to own a computer that had the spirit and standard hardware of the original Amiga, fact is, what worked back in 1985 won't work today.

The absolute ONLY way a computer like that would work would be if Sony made something like a Playstation based computer system that would give people a standard hardware platform that would encourage a new wave of programmers and designers just like the Amiga did.

No tiny outfit is going to have the financial clout to produce a machine that can compete with consoles, let alone high powered PC's.

In 1985, major chip manufacturers that spent billions developing better and better video chip and sound chips didn't exist, hence why the Amiga was so revolutionary.

Technology actually had some time in the 80's and 90's to be used properly, now, its a race to made hardware redundant 6 months after its released.

There will NEVER be another Amiga unless someone like Sony recognises that a machine should be made.

X1000 won't be etting my cash thats for sure.

If there's ever going to be something as innovative as Amiga with as much impact on people's lives, it'll be a mobile device, not a desktop computer.

Not a chance!

I find this machine an absolute waste of money and not worthy of the "Amiga" title. Over priced and probably cheaply made junk with little use. Nothing beats a good old expanded A1200/A4000 for running real Amiga software/games

A600 is about as mobile as C= got with the Amiga

I think the iPad could have been that, just Apple f*cked it up with their restrictive interface policy. Quite sure someone will 'fix' that soon though

You can't make a platform open/attractive against the will of its creator. See PS3 for an example.
I wouldn't spend second thought on getting one since that Linux fiasco.

iPad is a toy.
