Can't launch Hudson Hawk 2 disks version !

Hi,
I tried in vain to load the two disks version of "Hudson Hawk" in WinUAE.
The game is loading only if you enable a second disk drive (which is useless for the process, you can use only the main disk drive).

I transfered the 2 disks to my A500 and the problem is exactly the same than in WinUAE : impossible to load the game (i haven't got a second disk drive).

OldFool said to me that he succeeded in transfering the game so my question is:

Can someone could upload agin the ADF files, try to load the 2 disks version in WinUAE and send me the config file ?

Whats the problem with the 1 disk version (its either Crystal or Defjam/Angels/Genesis)?

The problem is that on a real A500, the drive sound is THE MOST HORRIBLE SOUND YOU EVER HEARD. Like if the Amiga would like to comit suicide lol A previous thread talked about this and the drive sound frightened (and is still frightening) everyone lol !

I didn't ever have any problems with the 1 disk version, and have no clue why any other group cracked it to more than one disk.

Oh thank you for your answer my friend, i will send you the 2 disks versions cracked by "i don't remember but Horizon i believe" as soon as i'd ba able (i haven't got the files on my pc), mybe to will ba able to look at them

It is a 'CPY' crack and "mai" has the disks.

Have you transfered the images to real floppy disks and tried on your Amiga?
I suppose in WinUAE it runs only, if you enable second diskdrive, althought you cant use it.

Yes i tried and the result is exactly the same that in WinUAE. Black screen as soon as you press the left mouse button. You told me that you succeeded in transfering a two disks version, were the files are these ones my friend ? Thanks for your help !

I have not transfered to real floppy, i have said, that it works in WinUAE, if you enable second diskdrive.

I tried to treansfert these file:
Hudson Hawk (1991)(Ocean)[cr CSL][t +3 ACHE - Extensors].rar

A one disk version working on WinUAE (it is not the case of all the 1 disk version i tried on WinUAE) but unfortunatly it don't works on my A500 (screen frozen on the video tape just after the special fx logo).

I'd want in the worst case to transfert a WORKING version of this game, even in 1 disk.
So does someone succeeded in transfering something that works, even in 1 disk ???

Just transferred Hudson Hawk (1991)(Ocean)[cr CSL][a2].7z to my 3.1 A500. Quick test didn't show any problems. Got to stage 3 before quitting

Thanks a lot Antti, you meant 3.1 A500 or 1.3 ??? Mine is a basic one with kickstart 1.3.

The game booted ok with KS1.3 but the graphics was all messed up due to my NTSC Mini Megi Chip. So I used KS3.1 to enter the startup menu to switch from NTSC to PAL. I transferred the adf from my linux server using a null modem cable (SLIP, AmiTCP). I wrote the adf to a floppy disk using Yadi v2.0.

You too deserve a "thank you" for thorough testing on the *REAL* thing.

It's like an old case I remember with BubbleBobble: for the REAL thing lovers, it makes hardly any sense to repeatedly tell them full of enthusiasm "all trained versions work perfectly on WinUAE, yippieh". No wonder, because WinUAE has become very forgiving
Until I was lucky by coming up with a widely unknown version, TRAINED, from a rare compact. That guy with the real thing had literally jumped for joy, because he couldn't run ANY of the previous versions WinUAE never had a problem with on his real machine ... but this one

Huh? There is nothing "forgiving", usual reason is non-matched configuration.

Just selecting ocs/ecs, 68000 and some 1.x kickstart does not equal A500 and there is at least 10 different A500 configuration combinations: ram, ks, chipset, extra drives..

Fact is: it has occurred many times on here that WinUAE was always able to run some badly coded stuff with flying colors while 9 out of 10 real machines were unable to run it (choked, crashed...)
Maybe "forgiving" wasn't the ideal wording, but I couldn't think of any better

But THAT is the assumption made by many, as far as I could read here many times.
Well, ocs + 68000 + 512Chip + 512Bogo + KS1.3 + "Match A500 Speed"+(optional)"More compatible" ought to come quite close to the 500 already...so if not, tell me so =)

Toni, for example all versions i found of "Alien Breed 2 AGA" are simply not working on my real A1200 although ALL the adf are working like a charm on WinUAE. When you are inserting the second disk loading is looping forever and ever and ever and... Same problem with "Alien Breed 1" on my A500 (loops just after inserting the first disk for the non cracked versions and loops after skipping the crack for the others), i have to play this game on my A500. More over, the drive sound is EXACTLY the same on the two games. I created a thread on this problem and some guys here suuceeded in transfering the files on their amiga without problem. So we can easily conclude that MY machine has something different that prevents this two games from loading correctly. But of course, i am not a specialist (the specialist is you) and maybe you have an idea of the problem...

I would say that i have now transfered enougth games (several hundreds of disks, maybe 600) to be practicaly sure that the problem with these 2 games is not my fault.
Beside, i am going to create a "My collection" thread lol, hope everyone here will appreciate and will post comments ))
The musashi9 version of "Hudson Hawk" is with no doubt the best cracked version of this game and has to integrate the official set !!!

For example, Benefactor is not working on my real A500. It craches just before that the blue star wars scroller appears. I tried all avaible versions of course...

I can't transfer "Worms the director cut" too... And for this one i don't understand the problem... I believed that i succeeded in transfering the game (because i have already tried it on my A1200) but right now i have a guru after inserting the third disk. You might help me for this one because i can't manage to load it in WinUAE anymore, the same guru at the same time on the real machine.

So all i would say is that YES, be sure of that, WinUAE can load games impossible to load on my real machines. I don't know why, i haven't got the knowledge to understand why, but it is true, no doubt about that. I have experienced this sometimes, but not too much fortunatly. In many many many cases, things are exactly the same in WinUAE than on my real machine.

easy :

1) the disk you use are bad
2) your A500 drive is knackered
3) your RAM extension has a problem.

Lets start with Benefactor because it should be easiest to test. (I am not only trying to prove you wrong but also trying to find what exactly causes different behavior)

CRC32 of Benefactor image?

Your full exact real Amiga configuration: OCS or ECS Agnus? KS 1.2 or 1.3?Number of floppy drives? RAM expansion? (0.5? 0.5+0.5? 1M chip?)

Toni, here is the configuration i use to run games on WinUAE 2.2.0.

I don't remember the CRC32 of the files for Benefactor for example but for "Alien Breed 1" and "Alien Breed 2 AGA" the CRCs were ok. I an using ADF sender terminal with the standard configuration to transfert ADF files, maybe it is not the required configuration for some games ???.

I am always trying to run the games on WinUAE in the same configuration than my real machines (even if i don't know for ECS/OCS and if i don't understand all the advanced settings in WinUAE of course, i do my best...).

Of course, all those unexpected problems after trying succefully the concerned games on WinUAE are very surprising because WinUAE is a wonderful emulator and the only thing i want is, OF COURSE, to have a solution ))

All the Flashtro trainers are not working for me too (90% are ok) but those where i had problems were perfectly working on WinUAE 2.2.0 too with my default A500 configuration.

The only game that i can't manage to transfer now and that has the same behavior in WinUAE and on my real A1200 is "worms the director cuts". I need to check the CRCs for this one because it is strange indeed (but i bet the CRCs are ok).

How do i check to see if my A500 is OCS or ECS ?

OCS/ECS is not that important, use something like sysinfo to check it.

CRC32 is 100% required. It is the only way to guarantee we are using exact same image. This is the most important information.
