i do have the master disk for the big book (german) that was sold with it. unfortunately it says something like "book", which is just awesome when the files have no description on what they are and where they came from, e.g. pagemaker, whatever.

I used to have X-Copy and a Cyclone (I think) cartridge that was meant to be able to copy near enough any copy protected game. Don't think I ever managed to copy any disk that I couldn't have copied in Workbench though. Was I just being incompetent?

Cool program and cool site though...

Did you check the file's contents? Maybe it's something simple like troff. Or could you upload an example?

your site made me do a walk down memory lane... thanks, indeed nice to see back a screen that should be burnt in my retina, but for some reason it took a visit to this website to get nostalgic

together with this one, priceless memories in the 80s, but then xcopy came and took over to continue my unquenchable thirst to duplicate warez in the 90s! (but also as it had several tools)

And after xcopy, there was Rattlecopy as it still packed more extra functionality...

I already asked for people good with DTP to volunteer. Will only make sense if someone has experience with this because the files will need re-layouting to make a proper PDF. I guess it's some ancient layout program...

White Lightning was the predecessor by the same author. Cachet "lured" him away with the promise they could sell 5.000 the first year. They sold a multiple of that...

White-Lighting was from F. Neuhaus for Vesalia anno 1987.

The Copy Tool is Copy-Protected.

Yes, should have been White Lightning, Fast Lightning, X-Copy. I read "Fast" above, when there was "White" on the screen. So in fact X-Copy was already a third gen product, which explains why it was so good and easily adopted by many users.

I've been trying to get in touch with Frank Neuhaus an Hans G. Berg for some time now, but apparently... no luck. Anyone with a clue please let me know.

I'm a bit out of touch with Amiga software.

I have fitted a new floppy drive in my A500 which is working (thanks to another thread on this forum).
About a third of my old floppies are knackered but about two thirds are still working.

I have a working disc with Amiga MultiDos.
Can I put the Xcopy ADF file on a PC formated floppy and use Xcopy from that (using Multidos), to make backups of my working Amiga software??

I'm just trying to figure out how to get the xcopy software onto an Amiga disc.

If you've got a real Amiga with CrossDOS it's pretty easy to get the files across, you just use transdisk or similar. You'll need to split it in half to fit though.

Well basically that's fine since the license allows it to be put there (it's free for private, non-commercial use and can be distributed freely).

However, as said in an earlier post, we wanted to make sure the releases are good and asked to not put it up there. But... like always and before... someone can't / won't wait so he's the first to put it up.

So don't be shocked if you find something in there is broken.

Stay tuned for more releases, more versions, a never before released version of X-Copy (due later this year hint hint), and even the SOURCE (by Richard Aplin) for Cyclone. Yay, I am really excited about this.
