Someone wrote a KGLoad type proggie....

....but I don't think Franko will be releasing it as it was a custom build:

http://www.amiga.org/forums/showthread.php?t=53997

Funny thread to pop up however!

It's not a KGLoad type product, because it exists

I could release my WHDLoad launcher progy and make it work on most Amiga systems, as it stands just now it would work on any A1200 with at least 4Meg fast ram from OS 3.0 to 3.9. I do have a version that runs games from CDs or DVDs but I believe their are already launcher progs out their for doing this. So I've never really giving much thought to putting on Aminet.

Looks pretty cool. Is it usable with a joystick or does it need a mouse to navigate the categories etc?

I agree, looks nice

Only thing I would say, is that Selector is spelt with an O not an E.

I'm not digging though I promise!

EDIT: Shut it Paul

It's just a little quirk of mine that I put in any programs I write.
(I sneek in a tribute of some sort to all of the old SKA bands, that were and still are my heroes, in this case The Selecter...)

T_hairy_bootson, like the idea of joystick control, hadn't thought of that...

PS: what is this KGload progie and where can I find it...

Hi kipper, I don't think it would be of any use to anyone else. I have only used it on my various set ups mentioned in my post above. Plus the way that I use it requires all of your games to be stored in alphabetical drawers (ie:A to Z) and all of my WHDload games are stored as single LZX files (ie: each LZX file contains the Disk images, Slave file etc.. for the particular game) as when you have over 5000 games stored on your HDs this save a hell of a lot of space.

The program itself does all the unpacking and launching, all you have to do is select the game you want and its up and running.

Hi Franko

From what you have written I would certanly be interested in the program by the sounds of it, even if it does have ska references in it :P.

...true, but it's always nice to have a choice of app!

Nice work Franko, I think you'd have some interest in a public release. As far as needing to be in folders, and in LZX format, I can't see that being an issue for most people to arrange.

Well, if some folks can find a use for it, I'll put a little package together over the next few days and upload it to Aminet.

If anyone does find it useful then they can email me with suggestions/feedback/bugreports to the email address I'll put in the docs and if enough folk can suggest improvements to it, then I'd be quite happy too keep udating it.

Hi Boo Boo

You mean this one...

Really just the same thing as the Amiga one, cept this time its for launching C64 games with frodo, it also lets you adjust & save the Frodo prefs settings for each game in the filenote section of each title, so you have the best settings available for each game whenever you run that game.
