Well I can think of a few expletives that might come close to describing this collection but man, this is one very large skyscraper of a disk collection

I easily have 1000 disks (of original games too!) and they are kept in 6 large shoe boxes (each with about 3 columns x 70 disks) - much less than this guy.

The auction is 7900 disks - he is selling them all off in 100 disk "surprise" packs (hence the quanity of 79).

Happy

so what, I have over 30,000+ disks, collected by myself (I knew quite some traders who were 10 times worse than me ) and other friends (BEL/UK/US). Even fantastic Boiler Room archives (from several old A3010 tapes (got a tapedrive as an extra!), some didn't work tho')!

took me months to put 'em all on THIRTY ONE CD-Rs, but now I got a fat file full of Ami warez, 1986-1997, after that I lost interest in it and stopped collecting.

I also was disgusted to lose about 35MB of compressed nostalgic oldskool stuff, I erased the files becoz I thought I already burnt them... BIG mistake

And I still was just too late to get a collection of over 8,000 5 1/4 disks for only $100, the guy sold it instead to some C64 guys who just wanted the disks to put C64 stuff on it, erasing all Ami data In that collection there was even more old stuff...

well, it were nice days having games with a crackdate which was the same day

Surely you've made detailed lists of your Amiga disks so we can all saveur them and discover MIA titles?!!? Upload please!

some explanation

all listings taken off cds and rar'ed together
(RAR archive 1.898.303 bytes)

it's a bit chaotic but just do a find for the games you're looking for ;-))

contents of archive:

Amiga Games (3 CDs incl CD32, 90s, was sold for $$$ by hackers)

AMICOMPIL_DOC.TXT 78 KB
AMICOMPIL_GAMES.TXT 101 KB
AMICOMPIL_HD.TXT 9 KB

The Boiler Room (US top-BBS in 80s, 3CDs=9 tapes, oldskool)

BOILERROOM.txt 504 KB

Boondocks (15 CDs, NL top-BBS, Oct1994-March1997)

BOONDOX.TXT 7414 KB

my own Amiga Warez (8 CDs=9055 disks, oldskool and early 90s)

DIRKIES.TXT 434 KB

yet some more 1996/7 stuff

SOMEMORE.TXT 158 KB

All those disks I lost, WHO HAS SOME OF THESE, ALWAYS WELCOME!

DIRKIES_lost.txt 10 KB

Also some huge HD games like Octamed, OnEscapee, Foundation, Genetic Species, TFX, Quake, Uropa2 & Herogalaxy 3D (?) Napalm
(but I never tested them, probably they don't work on 4ooo/o6o/PIV machines!)

archives are in one of these compressed: DMS/LHA/LZX/DSQ

>ADF archives off the net (2 CDs)
>not included here, because those you all have I guess...

SO WHERE SHALL I PUT THIS RAR ARCHIVE???

OK, you have my attention!

By The Boiler Room, do you mean The Boiler Room BBS from NYC (sysop: Freddy Kruger) from the old days (early to mid 90's, GOD USWHQ)? I have a handful of dats from there as well that I am waiting to dump. If we are talking the same BBS, I'd be interested in knowing what you have of that collection. Especially if you have their old stuff, like this title on my MIA list from their collection:

Filelist from The Boiler Room BBS, conference Amiga Wares!.
Compiled 00:25:40 12-07-93 by ListSpeeder v1.2.

Amiga Wares!, directory 1

The Boiler Room ELITE LISTING of OFFLINE Titles 1988-1992

JUDOA.WRP N 548080 04-29-89 Judo Atemi - Great Graphics/Sound

Among others. Looking forward to seeing your lists!

since most old files are warped (WRP), I hope no-one will ask me to convert 20.000+ archives into ADF!

and doesn't the PCami emulators can unpack a native format INSIDE the emu to an adf format???

BTW TwistinGhost, I have the CD here in my CD drive with that
(on first CD of 3 I have made)

JUDOA.WRP N 548080 04-29-89 Judo Atemi - Great Graphics/Sound

so what do you want me to do now???

Can I just forward you the WRP archive (if you got a REAL Ami it's unpacked in seconds)

Those DATs you have a worth a fortune for oldskoolers like me!

2 tapes (out of 11) I received from a buddy from the US were unreadable, sure there's some more stuff on I wanted purely for nostalgic reasons!

some dude should give me an FTP upload address so that the MIA vultures can attack it

I'd accept the .WRP files instead of ADF as I don't mind doing the conversion myself

Right here, I just sent dirkies a PM with my server's logon info

Warp files cant be unpacked inside emus because of the floppy disk emulation not behaving like it should for such a task. Or something like that.

So warp files are for us Amiga powered freaks Upload at will!

I already see a couple MIA titles in there that will make Twistin' have to take his heart medication while he does the monkey dance. :happy

Speaking of which, still no sign of Monkey Business by Other Valley Software, the first game reviewed by Amiga World in 1986.

Well, I think the collection would make more sense to be posted to one of the FTP's of EAB regulars like Ian, Big Byte, etc. Especially considering that in these places, they are sure to make it to the TOSEC team.

Apparently dirkies has the following titles on his CDs that I think are still on Twistin's MIA list:

The Boiler Room

Beyond Dark Castle
Blasteris
Emerald Mine 3 Pro

Boondox

Lasermania 2
Marathon
Tyran
Ultimate Tennis Tour

WOW! This is a cool thread - and I've never noticed it before!
Just stumbled on this one by searching whether Judo Atemi recently requested by Beawolf hadn't been requested before (which I assumed).

WOOOW!

BDC 3-disk version without needing WHDload - that would even interest ME!

Has at least a part of this great collection ever been upped to an FTP yet or was this just building castles in the air up to now?

I did get dirkies CDs but the BDC disks are in some nibble .WRP format that do not convert to ADF -- in other words, just like the originals. Blasteris I uploaded ages ago.

Speaking of fish that got away, a couple of years ago I made contact with a guy in the U.S. who had approximately 8,000 Amiga floppies. His list contained all sorts of rarities - Monkey Business, Puppy Love, etc. He lived about 500 miles from me and we planned to drive out and meet, and he'd lend me the disks if I would dump them to CD. But one day he stopped replying and hasn't responded since. By now there's probably only 15 or so disks among his collection that contain something that nobody else seems to have, and who knows how many of those are corrupted.

Anybody is into BBS archives ?
I'm looking for the Boondocks CDS.

I got some monthly BBS dumps too, if swaps required.
