Exclamation BUG: Anyone can post with my username now

Any guest that isn't registered as 'andreas' can post with my name now. I realized it myself while I was NOT logged in and posted a reply.
Normally, an error message should occur telling me that this username is registered. That's what I got in previous forum versions.

Nevertheless, it still worked in version 2.0, so it's a new issue...

But this is an IMPORTANT thing to fix.
This is my very self behind it. If anyone writes crap using my name, how can I be sure that you believe me that it wasn't really me?
So please do fix it - it IS serious regarding everyone's reputation on the forum because anyone can ghost-write posts using names of registered members. And you all know WHO could make fun of this. The guys who you banned from EAB long ago.
That's a serious thing and no trifle.

Besides, when you see a post submitted by a specific user, you reply accordingly, knowing that it's not a stranger behind the name! This bug can be very misleading.

If it says Guest we know it's not you And if it was you, we know that you will say it later, with an "I forgot to login" message

But I agree that this is something that should not happen.

okay, cause I won't be able to check if the guest users are using our members' names right now, any guest visitor will be now force to "Unregistered / Guest" name status.

Thank you.

However, you *are* able to check this, at least theoretically.
It did work in 2.0, behavior was this:

1. Unregistered user tries to use 'andreas' as the nickname.
2. Board software detects that 'andreas' is a registered user, spits out an error message similar to "you entered a wrong password for this registered user or you aren't logged in".

This behavior doesn't occur anymore, so something has definitely been broken up. This can hardly take an eternity to fix properly.

lol yes I know the processus

I just don't want to hack more this version of the EAB for guest's posting which represent 5% of board daily new messages. (the next big step will be v3)

Does this mean when I get logged out now, I can log back in from that screen? Or do I still have to go back to the front page?

I also hope your logout problems will be fixed.
