Lots of games don't work

I use Win UAE 0.8.16 Release 3, and many of the games I download and play don't work. Many give me windows error messages. I have a Voodoo 2 and a 4mb s3 Trio vidoe card working togther, and someone told me that the video card was causing my problems. I leave the Win UAE configurations to default, accept for the controls.

Alien Breed, Project X, Heroquest, Logical, Eye of the Beholder, Disc...I could go on and on! They all don't work! I can only get a few to run- Elfmania, Turrican 2, Giana Sisters, Ballistix.

I have a P2 350, with 128 mb RAM. Can you help?

Never assume that all games will work on just one configuration!

I have a dozen or so config files so I can run everything I want. For non-AGA games then stick to KS 1.2/1.3 OCS, 512k CHIP mem and you won't go far wrong.

Well it works for me anyway.

Here are a few to get you started, many more of your downloaded games should work with these:

Oh and as Khephren rightly said never assume that all your games will work under one configuration, emulation of the Amiga is very complex and you will need to play with the settings a few times if your games/demos don't work.

Also a few games suffer from the sprite bug which prevents graphics from appearing or colliding in the game - a bug in WinUAE, WinFellow and Fellow.

Removed configs, get them from Malc-ALE's site

I use 3 configs in WinUAE.

1 A500 config
1 A1200 config
1 A1200 + HD config

Most games work with one of those, but primarily I use Winfellow to run the games it can because it works much faster. Somehow my soundblaster live doesn't like WinUAE. When I enable sound in WinUAE the max framerate I can get is 35. I've been down to 5 once. Normal Workbench emulation gives me 30 frames, if I disable sound emulation and tell WinUAE to pull as fast as it can I get a framerate of around 300 instead.

For the purposes of the project I'm working on I use 7 different versions of winuae and about 15 different configs. With that 96% of the software I have works. Still working on the 4%...

There SHOULD be sound but it depends on the WinUAE version you are using, simply load the Configuration you wish to use and then hit the Sound Tab, click Emulated and then go back to the Configurations tab and hit SAVE.

Do this for all the configurations I sent and BINGO you should have working sound, I'm still using the much more stable 0.8.8 Release 7 of WinUAE so that could be the problem.

Easy to fix if you have a fiddle.
