amigans grow up !!!!!
look at the end of the obligement interview with Simon Archer
http://obligement.free.fr/articles_t...warcher_en.php What is your opinion about the AmigaOne X1000 ? Lovely. A last message for the Amiga community ? Honestly? "Grow up!", it's like a nursery school in those forums most days. i think this is true because nobody seems to enjoy and continue to troll about new amiga x1000 or always complaining ...... about what ????? i don't know we are lucky to have again a new amiga, where is the new atari, the new amstrad , the new commodore ????? we are lucky guys because some company continue the fight and we don't seem to appreciate it to its good value. thank you hyperion, thank you a-eon thank you all programmers which continue to keep alive the amiga spirit, let's go guys, i wish you the best. ps : thank you Toni |

Let's hope the X1000 isn't vapourware.

Like I've always said, I'm all for something new to play with. The annoying thing with the x1000 for me was the website they created with all the 'games' they were playing and secrecy surrounding it.
If they were more open with things and showed us how they are progressing/got real with the project..... people would take them far more seriously instead of saying "two more weeks", "vapourware" etc. The truth is they need money and a userbase.... and the Amiga OS4 userbase is pretty small... Grow up? I could say the same about a guy who programmed a pointless ubergeek OS like Amiga OS4, used by app. 3,5 people.

It would probably be better to of done that website stuff closer to the launch, but what do I know.
So long as I have enough money when/if it's released, I'll be sure to get one. I've never used OS4 though, I'm guessing there are at least basic applications to suit basic needs. |

i actually found this really funny... he sounds like a nightmare to interview... he thinks he some sort of pop star, where you can be basically rude to everyone
i like the way he feels the need not to repeat himself rather than offering a quick summary for those that dont know sure he has some sort of talent for Amiga software and has developed some interesting hardware, this has made him feel superior to everyone else however, he has forgotten the Amiga will always be a retro computer, given the option i would love to see an Amiga branded computer be successful in a modern computer world, but why would it be... the Amiga had (at the time) serious advantages over the competition, but failed to developed (or developed too slowly) technical innovations. today any AmigaOS platform offers no advantages over the force that is the mighty PC or Apple's innovations in terms of hardware and OS the only people interested in an AmigaOS are the people he is telling to grow up... talent... yes public relations... no and guess what, its the public that buy stuff |

>They only reluctantly released AGA in 1993
1992 actually. >Like I've always said, I'm all for something new to play with. The combination of announcing vapourware and employing dickheads like the one who was interviewed has really turned me off Hyperion in the last few months. |

1. I don't think it is vaporware. Hyperion depends on having a platform for its software, and sam is getting old. Either X1000 actually happens, or Hyperion will fade away.
2. I do think it was quite clever to announce the X1000 before high prices and low specs could spoil things. |

That guy is so far up his own arse I'm surprised he can see daylight at all....
How to win friends and influence people, eh? He seems to have forgotten that the "nurseries" are the exact reason that they have a potential market for the new machine now.....if they hadn't survived, they wouldn't have a market, and also the reason there are a lot of trolls about is because of the screwing around they received from Hyperion. Those who don't learn from history are doomed to repeat it..... |

That interview just makes you feel all warm and fuzzy inside, doesn't it. Hardly worth publishing.
