Dungeons of Daggorath

Roll up, roll up!

This week I look at a relatively obscure game called Dungeons of Daggorath, one of the best games for the Tandy CoCo. It's a frenetic game that's sure to get your blood pumping as you try to accurately type commands as monsters chase you down in real-time!

Yeah, I was feeling very old skool this week. Enjoy!

Dungeons of Daggorath! (put the reverb here)

Playing these kind of games, you needed plenty of skills figuring out those obscure commands, as well trying to keep the pace when fighting!

Looking forward for the interview! Keep the good work Matt!

Help! I tried to play the PC port, and the demo mode looks just like in the video, but when the game begins, I'm standing in the dark.

EDIT: Watched the video again. U L does the trick.

There's also a remake available on the iPhone which plays pretty well.

I thought the same thing, Gilgamesh. I probably should have shown AK just to compare them.

That game looks extremely frustrating. Having to type commands every time you want to attack. There's no repeat button or anything. I bet the adrenaline rush could make you obliterate the keyboard over time.

So what are the long term plans for Matt Chat? Will there be any more deep dives into the Amiga history? Maybe an episode which covers several games for the Amiga. The best, and some hidden gems.

Nice idea, Benighted. I like to cover Amiga stuff because there is so much ignorance out there; seems like only the chosen few even know the platform ever existed. I've talked to people who think I'm mistaken about the system; "What?? There was no multitasking in 1985!" and so on. Frustrating!
