Shin-chan is up to something, and wont tell us!

I think I like "Agony End Tune", AHX format, by Pink/Abyss. but I'm not sure really!

If not, it might be one of Hollywood's songs, or perhaps Dreamfish

Dreamfish!

I used to know this guy personally. He used to go under the name Hydlide, and yes his chiptunes were quite good.

His c64 conversions were cheated though. He simply sampled the whole tune, cut it up into seperate samples that Protracker could cope with, and then matched his instruments, hence why they were perfect copies and perfectly timed

I taught him to crack/AGA fix, now he goes under the name of Hoffman and is a DJ.

I remember him when he was a nerdy schoolboy

And

Starworx by 4mat

Both are short, but v.good

Appogises if these 2 aren't strictly speaking chip tunes though

oh and i love the ingame music frmo jump and roll (future composer).

oh and many Art Of Noise tunes from Bastien Spiegel (Twice/Lego) are great

oh. and i cant forget some of the stuff made on soundmon by zzzax and brimble.. some great chippies there.

oh and the unreal ingame tune during the flying sections from maniacs of noise (this one from Reyn)

ghaaa.. too many great tunes. and ive hardly started
on the sound/noise/protracker stuff!

to pick an all time favourite would be too hard... (but maybe the vision factory tune would get it)

The angels crackintro on Prince of Persia is a cover of the C64 Comic Bakery tune done by Jochen Hippel.

not sure what you mean by .hp but he does use his own audio format. Both on ST and Amiga. He created his own editor too.

HP music editor

Jochen Hippel (Mad Max / TEX) is one of my favorite music composer, difficult to choose one of his music as my fave one... let's go for the classic Cybernoid 2 !
According to Galahad, the great C64 conversion by Archon are simply perfect.

@Buzz : do you know where to find Jochen Hippel music editor ?

His version of Cybernoid 2 is great. although the c64 original is still my favourite

I have asked jochen many many times in the past for his editor. From what i remember he did an editor on the ST and on the Amiga.
He told me on many occasions he would dig out his Amiga editor for me, but nothing...

Speaking of editors, i have some more i have to put on exotica. I dont think i put ChipTracker on there yet, and others. I should also put a complete MED collection on there, but I was a bit annoyed that despite Octamed SS is a free download the octamed people wouldnt give me permission to put on older commercial versions. They just kept telling me to download the free one. maybe they didnt actually read the mail fully.. argh

@Buzz

Thanks for info about Hippel. Cool to know you'll put online Chiptracker, there was also another PT clone made by Abyss (forget the name, but it's not AHX of course) i hope to see too.
Anyway great job through the years !

BTW there's plenty of ATARI musics which can't be played on amiga. If someone is interested there's an unified ST player with source code at : http://sndplayer.atari.org

Dr.Awesome, Bjorn Lynne has released quite a few albums.

I'm working on a solo electric violin album.

Quite a few of us are in the game industry though, 4-Mat is too I think, he was at Climax... Bjorn is at Team 17, and I'm at EA.

Dunno about the others. Nuke was @ Core design, but I don't know... um... Twilight is @ Sony.... er... that's it... for now...

MOD.hemp-o-nsill

And how do you re-play this musical masterpeice?

I've tried modplug, winamp with oldskool plugin, and deliplayer... none of which will even attempt to load it.

Sorry to bring up an ancient thread, but I just found it while doing some research on the composer of this classic Amiga cracktro.

For the record, the classic "Comic Bakery" chiptune was composed by Martin Galway, NOT Jochen Hippel.

BuZz was referring to the tune used in the Angels crack intro for Prince of Persia. And that tune was made by Jochen Hippel! That the original C64 tune was composed by Martin Galway is not much of a secret... So thread revival was rather unnecessary.

wow. old thread. yeh, Sorry for misunderstanding, but I said "cover of the c64 tune". not that he made the original. anyway I guess my wording was unclear.
