Joystick-prbs under WinUAE 0.8.8 R8

I´ve got problems using my Joystick running WinUAE 0.8.8 R8 under Win98. Some time ago now I´ve made the interface to connect my old Amiga Joysticks as it was described by Christoph Stahl and Dirk Düsterberg (btw All the best to them) and I can say it really works out fine. Under Windows the Joystick works perfectly but in WinUAE the joystick allways hangs to the bottom right corner. Still I can move the stick to other directions but as I said he allways moves right and down.
A few days ago then I´ve downloaded WinUAE 0.8.21 R4 and, what can I say, the problems gone. Well, in fact I´ve got a new one, because I´ve lost so much speed that the games don´t even nearly run smoothly, anymore.

So, I´ve got one version with absolutely smooth speed and joystick-problems and one version with my joystick working fine but not enough speed to play a game.

I hope someone has encountered this joystick problem too.

P.S.: Excuse my mistakes :-)

Try Winfellow at http://fellow.abime.net/ as it is better for older PC's.

Tried WinFellow alright. But it won´t work properly with most of my games. (OK, most likely my fault)
I get some good results with Fellow though. But it´s quite tricky for me to figure out the right options to get the right speed.

It´s just that WinUAE 0.8.8 R8 works really, really fine with me. If this joystick-problem wasn´t there.
The funny thing is that for two weeks or so, the joystick worked without problems, but after that it went messed up again. I´ve tried really everything but it won´t work.

Sorry I can't be of any more help.

I recommend WinUAE 0.8.14 R3, the release prior to the implementation of JIT, the next best thing for older PC's, plus it contains updated controller code utilizing DirectInput I believe, which just might be what you need.

0.8.14R3 also troubles me. However the joystick problem is fixed. Does somebody know where to get all the different versions between 0.8.8 and 0.8.14 ?
I´ll try the oldest version then, in which the prb with the stick is fixed. Thx
